If elements of the mix is watersoluble, but not epoxysoluble, will it damage the mix, used with epoxy, instead of cement and water? I think that was my question, sorry..
Regards MikeEdd to much..
SILIMIX Nr. 271 0.1 - 3.0 mm synthetic resin bounded soils from 8 mm layer thickness
SILIMIX Nr. 282 0 - 4.0 mm liquid-compact mortar
I wonder what bounded soils is, for the 271.(are the aggregate...
I know some folks use Dansand, as they even makes the mix you specify, but it is very interesting that Silimix is kind of foolproof, I better talk to them to get some more info..
I also like the...
Badhabit, it looks like a serious tool, you are making, but why do you use 282 and not 271, as 271 is made for resins?
BTW, I am scared of the amounts EG you will use, as I plan a smaller hobby...
Well I did some hurt to the fine headstock housing, as I want to lube it with oil, as in a bath, and maybe it wil work maybe it wont, and then Ill just grease the bearings up instead, but the plan is...
I got a manual for the standalone controller with more than 2 axis and a bigger screen, but it is in chineese.. any help translating??
As I can google translate it looks like the other, but a deluxe...
Thanks Asuratman, but I will wait a little buying, as it looks like these controllers are quite new, and still evolving, plus my machine build will take some month to finish.
I can see the xc series...
Well, you can get the 609m with either chineese or english keyboard, and it looks like the cw60 is a 6 axis version of the cw20..
As the extra axis only cost a few bucks more, I cant see any reason...
Here are the manuals in English.
It is only 2 axis lathe controllers, so I would prefer the 609M, if it can be used for my lathe build, as I plan to put a third axis on for milling.
There is only...
No offence taken :-)
Good things got cleared up..
Hey, I am just another user of ali and e.bay and discovered, not to open dispute before writing the seller. On ebay, then I automatically get a refund, maybe because the seller was hornest and asked...
Forgot McGyver, IGalla and Epis and other names that might get me banned, if I write them correctly :-)
Very much to read, and done it twice, going on third...(yess Im a slow learner and pardon for my bad Spanish, as Its not my native :-)
I can only say thank you, this mastodont masterpiece, will...
I hope someone can help me clear this up.
Enclosed pic show how I plan to offset the headstock if the toolholders will be placed in the front as a conventional lathe.
Isnt it better than centering...
Thank you Jim. I like the portable concept, so I can do some turning in my car, while waiting for the rush-hours to pass ;-)
I have another thread, where I ask questions and show my progress :

Here is a pic of the new chuck and headstock, plus a mockup of a small cnc-lathe i plan to build, and the complete HStock can be found on epay for aprox 150 usd. Spindle alone is half, and we are in...
I can see this headstock is very used in mini lathes and there are tons of mods on the net if you search "mini lathe mods".
Very happy for the choise, and ordered 30206 TRB even SKF 10-15usd a...
Very thin and elegant colum you made. I love the simplicity..
Thanks, and keep on posting Buoyen.
Hejsa Norge :-)
Regards Mike
Here is a quick mock up of the mini cnc-lathe I will build, I guess it will be slanted and with a large cross-slide for gangtooling, but I often change my mind, as I get a lot of inspiration from you...
I got a spindle and some spares from ebay, the headstock is pretty nice, but heavy.. 15 pounds is my guess.. It will be used temporary for my 10 pounds microlathe, and after for the heavier version I...
The lathe will gain 10kg from the better headstock, and then the rest will be the weak link, and need to be replaced,
I have learned a lot from this micro-lathe, and recommend it, if you want to...
Finally had some time and found the culprit, as the tiny hollow spindle is way too soft, and the bearings loose, so I need more than 2 good bearings...
A new headstock, is actually all I need to...
I just got mail, even slowed down during crisis, my friend from China did it again, so only 2-3 weeks for the MK3B version. Now with space for the bearing close to the tool.( I have to adamit the...
It looks super Mactec, and I would love a 30T but my tools are not up to that for now.
I have read your build tread for the ER spindle build, and you make very fine work :-)
I think the taper roller bearings 320/22x from SKF is fine, as max speed is aprox 15krev/min and rollers are very strong, what is needed in this tiny diameter spindle.
I have to admit, i doubt the...
Price sofar 250usd, and the quick 30usd toolchange, is far from optimal, but main chatter is from the thin profiles, and the headstock, joined in an awfull way, by me, the big kahuna,
I will brace...
Finally the pics came.
New chuck, toolpost. motor and ball bearings et cetera..
The last pic is to proof, that i am cutting, not just grinding stainless steel. By nature it is only a light cut as...
Here we go again, why cant I upload my pictures? is there a limit size? it is jpeg, less than 5 Mega
I used way to much money, as I got some upgrades, and will have to DIY it all over again, but now I do have a small lathe I can use for my spindle build and other things..
It cries out for a...
