    Re: China bearings from Hardinge

BTW, mactec54, I know you did some retrofits with modified drives on the BP's. I'm entertaining the idea of overdriving the motor with a VFD on the stock vari drive. Do you have any experience on the...

    Re: China bearings from Hardinge

I have never heard of RBI Bearing Inc before. Maybe they are great. Maybe not. That's why I'm asking here. I think it's a red flag when something is labeled USA on the packaging and then you see the...

    Re: China bearings from Hardinge

I'm sorry to hear you had to make a new housing. I assume these were not RBI/ RB-tech?
It's cold here in my shop as well. The bearings are still sealed so I didn't try spinning them. If these are...

    Hi There,

I'm in the process of rebuilding the head on my 2hp vari speed BP mill. I ordered new Bearings from Hardinge expecting the best and to my horror I I just realized that all the bearings...

    Re: MPG setup with pncconfig

I redid my configuration with pncconf and deselected the switch selectable increments. I set the default to .001" and that works. I just wanted to update that. This gives a .001" travel per mpg...

    Re: MPG setup with pncconfig

wendtmk thanks for the link. Yes I have looked it over. If I'm reading that right, this uses a selector switch for jog increments. How do you set it up without an external selector switch?

    Re: MPG setup with pncconfig

I'll run pncconfig again and see if I can get a simpler mpg working. If not, does anyone here have a hal example I can copy over? Thanks.

Mactec, thanks for the info but i'm getting confused.
I know that the dmm drives are servo drives and that they are closed loop between the drive and servo. I'm using step/dir to control the servos...

    Re: Step and Dir settings

Open loop works, I was able to get around 300 ipm at 20,000 steps per inch. I had the max_vel at the default value of 1 in my ini file. I pumped that up to 5. I thought that max_vel under the display...

    Re: Step and Dir settings

I have not received any feedback here or over at DMM.
Can I assume that if the pulse is 2us, the value for step on time is 1000 and 1000 for step space? What about direction pulse??

    Re: breaker selection

Ok, just a quick update. I changed the breakers out to 20A D curve as I was still getting occasional trips on power up with the C breakers. High inrush "D"seems a better choice.
