  1. Re: CNC 6040Z controler software/driver help needed urgently.

Decided to take the controller box and put an Arduino in it.
Then I will have access to a lot of support...
The controller box has the VFD and nice stepper drivers so it should be a win.
    And...
  2. Re: CNC 6040Z controler software/driver help needed urgently.

    Had a mind-storm...
The controller box that came with the machine connects using a printer port to a cable with USB on the one side that then plugs into the PC USB port
    The controller box does...

  4. Re: CNC 6040Z controler software/driver help needed urgently.

I have been trying to contact ChinaCNCzone .com to get some help and advice but it would seem that they are simply not interested in even responding to after sales service requests or inquiry's....
  5. Re: CNC 6040Z controler software/driver help needed urgently.

    For more clarification...
I had set the machine up and gotten it to work.
    Made about 10 work-pieces.

    Re: Artcam replacement

    Hi
There are any number of ways to do it.
GIMP, Photoshop or any other image processing program can do it.
Blender can but Blender has an almost impossible learning curve unfortunately.
    (for me...

I know the basics of business - but why withdraw it totally leaving many thousands of people high and dry?
Leaving it "as is" and unsupported would not cost a cent but the nonsense they are getting...

    Re: Artcam replacement

    Hi guys
This whole ArtCAM story is a real pain in the butt.
I wasn't taking note so I actually missed it - ordered all the parts for a LowRider (all on the water as we speak) and while I am...
  13. Re: Router Spindle on Robot Arm - Software solution.

    Hi Goemon
Thanks for asking but unfortunately a whole bunch of "life" happened and it has become an "it would have been nice but" situation.
    But who knows?

  15. Re: Stepper Motor and Electronics Selection Advice

    Looks like a nice kit!
And the price is not too bad at all !!!
Any idea as to the transport costs to South Africa?
Could not find any info on your site.
  16. Re: Stepper Motor and Electronics Selection Advice

To be honest I have not looked yet - I'm busy getting my toes wet at this point.
But I do know that Fanuc industrial controllers can drive you to drink, especially if the supposed tech support...

  18. Re: Stepper Motor and Electronics Selection Advice

Hi CaptnBlynd - thanks for the reply.
The thing is that although I have had experience in a commercial CNC workshop, I have never actually built one of these "home" machines before.
    In the start...

Re: DC Motor questions - (dummy version)

    Thanks Al
Now I need to go learn about yet another type of motor - Oh well, I'm learning more since I retired than I ever knew possible.
Or maybe I need to just figure out how to re-use the boxes.

Re: DC Motor questions - (dummy version)

Low cost makes sense as far as the manufacturer goes - there is a LOT of stuff in one of those photocopiers....

Sorry to hear about your problems - hope you get them sorted out soon.
I blew over 30 MCU's before I gave up on my previous attempt - some of them "grew" a nice square hole in them....

DC Motor questions - (dummy version)

    Hi everyone
I recently stripped a couple of Kyocera full color photocopiers and found some motors as in the image.
