Asking for help to establish spindle connections and speed functionality between a Wood's Inverter that drives my Perske spindle, and my UC300 ETH-UB1 running UCCNC. I'm far from equipped to know...
Hi Mister Chips,
I'm finding this thread and jumping in a bit late to see if you got anywhere. Im in the same neighborhood in my think, just on a different street.
I think this is quite...
Some don't get it. Personally, I get a big kick out of making something out of nothing (or little). It was a learning experience for me to take mine from surplus to serious, but with the help of...
I bought mine (quite like yours) and upgraded it with Clear Path motors, all new wiring, all new electronics (UB1 and EC3eth) and UCCNC. It came with 2 Perske spindles, valved vacuum bed with...
Ger,
When you say laser control codes, are you suggesting a particular post processor in Vectric?
As I was typing this post, it crossed my mind to try a different search term, and low and behold I think the obvious came bubbling up to try the Vectric drag knife gadget. (Duh,or"DOE!" as Homer...
I thought it was gone but the USB issue is still there. I checked the connections at the power supply and the G540 is connected to a different COM connection on the power supply, if that matters. ...
I guess I was under the impression that USB was fairly bullet-proof. No quite, I'm finding.
I DID find some of the USB's had power management settings that appeared to be active, but that didn't...
I'm finishing retrofitting and Zund table plotter with new steppers, Windows 7, a Gecko G540, UCCNC, a UC100 controller, 2017 Screenset. My issue is when I start UCCNC everything works (motors run...
Very easy to answer in my opinion. UCCNC does so many things better, smoother, faster, without all the "flakiness" that we experienced with Mach 3. I have never run Mach 4.
Hi Mark,
I found this thread and was wondering how you did. I have the same machine and I'd like to retro it as well. Any insights?
Ken
Ordered and on its way.
Next machine is another large table at work. Can I use UCCNC to replace Mach3 with a CNC4PCC32 and an ESS Smoothstepper? This machine is one I rely on almost everyday for...
I too have this problem. Updates ran without consent ( I must have missed this machine, I usually have machine to ask before I allow them to run updates and now I remember why I do this) and Mach...
I see that this is an old one but I'd like to ask a related question. I have set up a usb "endoscope" camera and it works perfectly with one exception. Since it is fixed directly to my router...
Well today I installed 2 limit switches successfully and when I thought I was done for the day. I noticed that the light one of the prox switch wasn't on when I thought it should be, so I went back...
Interesting. So with a downcut, wouldn't you have a lot of dust packing on top of the spoilboard that has to be cleaned out before laying the next sheet?
The neutral cut and healthy vacuum lets us...
We were actually using an 1/8" bit with a neutral profile (neither upcut or down). One reason was the fact that these were printed by our customer and they left only about 1/2" between parts and we...
I thought I would comment on a few things that I experienced with UCCNC, that I found notable. Of course, my comments should be considered from that of a novice.
The install went well once I...
On your commercial level, do you also use soft limits and are they setup inside your mechanical limit switches? I have rarely turned mine on but at least in Mach, they sure have a nice method of...
Now that surprises me, "normally open". In my way of thinking about limit switches, is the idea that there is a circuit of 1 or more switches providing current in if the high current is broken...
I bought the CPM-SDSK-3421S-RLN standard motors. Man, they sure sound nice compared to my nema 34 steppers on the other machine. Not that it means much but it lets you hear the racks and rails...
I'l say!!
Thanks again, amigos.
So far I have hooked up all 4 motors and they are moving nicely. The slave X-A setup was easy. I simply set the DIR's as 1 active High and the other active Low. ...
HEY, HEY!
My negative Step and Dir wires were backwards. I reversed them, no other changes, and just like that, Y moves. I must have mis-interpreted to Clearpath manual as to which one was...
Thanks Jumper,
You are right, my mind is turning to mush on this. I should have said X not Y for the HLFB. You guys have been great, the least I can do is get it right instead of making this a...
Ok, so I will switch the Y leads to another axis and try again. Maybe the UB1 is the problem?
I'll also move the emergency stop to Y104 and see what happens. Funny that you mentioned that,...
Thanks Gerry,
You are right, I AM using VCC not 24v on the positive step and dir connections.
The step is NOT lighting up at all. When I attempt a move. The DIR turns red only in one...
I do understand that there are a lot of ways to go here. These controllers and Bobs are made to be versatile and that makes them a lot less than "out-of-the-box" ready, but what another fruitless day...
Thanks Jumper, I mean to say that I'm trying to move Y with the up and down arrow keys. I have also tried the flyout on the left side of the screen. In both cases the DRO's move so I presume it is...
Hi Jumper.
Yes, the light was a flickering green. Nice. I quickly arrow keyed the Y axis and got no movement. The Y-1 axis is set up independently of the 2nd Y, which I call Y-2. Y-2 is not yet...
Gentlemen,
Had a hard time getting that one through my thick skull.
I had to leave the shop early today but I did get a blinking green light at the servo indicating that it is ready to accept...
