Re: HURCO KM3 HELP!! Servo Fault

SC is short circuit. Check the brushes on the motors and blow out the carbon dust to begin with.

Re: HURCO KM3 HELP!! Servo Fault

What servo amps do you have?
Any lights on them when it faults?

    Re: Scary VM10U problems

I had to sort out a coolant through spindle leak on a machine in Frankfurt that had the same model of Fagor encoder inside the head assembly. The encoder was half submerged in coolant that had been...

    Re: Scary VM10U problems

The clamping is performed by the air pushing a tapered cylinder into a similarly shaped recess in a split brake ring. This ring opens out very slightly to grip inside the housing. It is returned to...

    Re: Scary VM10U problems

I don’t know of any brass rings that seal the air accessory tube. There is normally a cap sealed over the threaded part down in the table.

    Re: Scary VM10U problems

The brakes on the rotary axes are actuated with air and released with a spring called an ‘anti-rotation ring’. Strip-down is simple and reasonably easy. Seal kits are available.

Re: VMX Tool Changer Leak and Lube Levels

The oil you need is 120 to 150 ISO grade gear oil if you have the electric toolchanger. If you have the little perspex cover with the proximity switches then it's electric.

    Re: Hurco Computer identification

I’ve just rebuilt a rack with almost exactly the same setup as you have. I’ll snag a picture of the finished unit on Tuesday. All you’ll need is the BIOS settings and a couple of other minor things.

    Re: Hurco Computer identification

Do a search for Nexcom P777 or P715 CPU. You’ll find a processor that will fly. The 715 will be easiest to get started.

    Re: Hurco Computer identification

Looking again at your pics, you have most of what you’ll need to get one going. One has the passive backplane but nothing else, the other has a DSP, Canbus Controller and a hard drive. Snag a CPU and...

    Re: Hurco Computer identification

The older versions of software needed a dongle to run that matched the version of software running with it. Do you have anything connected to the parallel port (25 way D socket)?

    Re: Hurco Computer identification

It’s a little tricky if you are trying to run the software after V2.15
It may get sluggish as you get nearer to V2.30 upwards.
You will need a few software tools to make it run and you’ll need to...

    Re: Hurco Computer identification

It shouldn’t matter. Everything depends on what you load on the hard drive. The second pic has an early Pentium motherboard instead of the passive backplane seen in the first pic.

Re: Need to buy encoder for Hurco BMC 4020

Search for a ROD320.020-1250 or ROD320.020-2000 and see about changing the resolution in the CNC config parameters.

Re: Hurco VMX 40 axis problem

Have a look at the Y axis Servopack to see if the display is jumping around.

Re: Need help with 1996 BMC4020

Check the pulley is tight, the belt is ok and see if it comes back to 0.000 and has the little dot next to the Y on the position display. If it doesn’t, it is electrically miscounting.

Re: Need help with 1996 BMC4020

Go ‘Auxiliary’ ‘enter’ 100 ‘enter’ then go to CNC config, Y axis and then look at the pages to find the ‘counts per revolution’ for Y and compare it to X.

    Re: Hurco KMB1 upgrade

You could get a 6000 RPM option for those anyway so I doubt the mecanical side of things would let you down. Motor-wise, It’ll either fly or die...

  22. Re: BMC30 no response when start button is pushed in

No. The control will regenerate them as required. They are not loaded as files on a new hard drive.
  23. Re: BMC30 no response when start button is pushed in

I wonder if you have a problem with the I/R module. Does it produce 600VDC across the buss bars between the servo and spindle modules?
  24. Re: BMC30 no response when start button is pushed in

There is a link through for all the axis limit switches. There is a third channel that runs through all three swtches that will detect an overrun past the + & - switches and will stop the servos...
  25. Re: BMC30 no response when start button is pushed in

    Press manual
Press and hold in the power button (keep holding it)
    Press start (still holding power)
Try and jog it (keep holding in the power button)

    Does it work now?
