wondering if had something to do with your endmill running into the vice!
Are you using a belt drive? Gears still in? Speed handle in neutral?
Thank You. Thats great and that did the trick.
x3
problem is it wont let me pick that top line. I designed the profile and extruded it. Seems like I may be missing a step to let the lines be chosen individually.
Want to rough with a 1/2 inch endmill and dovetail with a 3/4 60 degree dovetail bit. Not sure if contour or pocket path to choose. verify always comes out wrong.
Do you know where a good place is to learn and gather the materials to set this up?
Did you check that the screw on the right side of the x axis ballscrew is tight? Use threadlocker to secure it and make sure the ballscrew it tight against the bearings.
Check all gib screws and...
I still keep the original boxes and refill the organizers when they get low. Just keep the one-offs in a separate container and check there last.
The dollar store "dollarama" has clear plastic boxes with section dividers for one dollar each. They are fantastic for storing all sorts of things. Best solution i have seen so far. I must have at...

xspyke is on a distinguished road
my x axis is missing steps but I found the problem
I'm sorry if this is a little...
Installed the CNC fusion delux #4 kit with keling 387oz/in motors on my Micro-mark X2 mini-mill. Using mach 3 I can jog all the axis's fine but after about a minute or so the x-axis slow jog doesn't...
End mills not the best for a smooth finish, a fly cutter or multi-carbide surface finisher will give you better results. You might try locking the z axis during the cut as well.
Well I got all the motors turning fine in mach3. I used the G540 presets. Has the steps at 20000 and they seem to turn pretty slow. Anyone know the ideal settings for the 387 motors with the cnc...
Hoss has some good videos on calibration. Check out hossmachine.info
I would like to do both. I thought mach3 will vary the speed once the min and max are input. Not as accurate as an encoder but should be close enough. I'm just interested in what to wire where to get...
Trying to figure out the wiring
Don't forget that the G540 can also CNC control your spindle speed with only a few wiring connections.
CR.
Can you elaborate on how to do this with the X2. Which wires go where? Thanks
Ok I think I got it now.
On the Gecko G540 manual, in the suggested wiring diagram, it specifies a Relay power supply with two dc relay coils. Do I need that? What is that for? They connect to pins...
I'm at the same stage as you. Got the g540 and 4 387's, the estop and 3 limit switches from keling. cnc #4 with upgrades on its way.
Want to start wiring the motors to see if I can get things going....
Thanks,
For the A/C side, do I have that right?
Green is ground - bolt to chasis or power supply
Black to HoT
White to Neutral?
And the E-Stop has 4 terminals
One of the green pin 10
One of...
Is this right?
Ok, got the motors and power supply and g540. Can anyone show me how to wire the power supply to the G540. The power supply doesn't come with a plug and I'm a little confused as to what goes where...
Oh, and adjustable boring head as well.
Ok good. I though I was doing something wrong when I had to hammer out each tool. My threads on my draw bar are almost bare from the hammering. I wonder if I can change my drill chuck, collet holder...
Shawn,
I wish I could help but my expertise is limited to SIEG straight motor controllers.
My guess is that IF the spindle is not have a rotation position reference to anything else and uses...
Of course air conditioning is on! Its 30 degrees celcius here in Toronto. I emailed John so waiting to hear back. I ordered 3 limit switches, was I supposed to get 6? I thought one for each axis...
My controller is not broken, I just want to control spindle speed with Mach3. If I want to built an ATC and use tormach stuff would the R8 or MT3 make any difference?
Yes thats the rotary table. Love the tapping attachment. Guess I will need a C10 board from cnc4pc to control another stepper motor.
So to control spindle speed I need to buy a new controller board...
