    Re: powermax45 for cnc

The akz250 has 16 inputs and 8 outputs. I know nothing about how to set up the out from the powermax to the in of the akz250. and visa versa. I would need an out from the bob to start arc...would...

    powermax45 for cnc

I just picked up a used Powermax45 that I would like to use in a diy cnc tube/pipe cutter. I have a akz250 bob, what would I need to interface between the bob and the powermax cpc port? Pins 3 and 4...

This scares me, for the last week I've been chasing down this bug of why the auto tool zero was not working with the help of all of you. Going through all these iterations but ultimately changing...

I went through and checked continuity:
0 continuity between chassis grnd and C25 grnd pin

  7. Re: ehternet smoothstepper/C25 auto zero wiring setup?

It measures between .005v and .000v but it's not steady, fluctuates between those numbers, more on the .000 side so essentially 0v
  8. Re: ehternet smoothstepper/C25 auto zero wiring setup?

I had a suggestion from someone on the Mach support forum to add another 2.2k resistor in series to up the voltage to 4v to the touch plate. I did and it made no difference. What I am thinking now...
  9. Re: ehternet smoothstepper/C25 auto zero wiring setup?

I never heard back from Arturo so I went ahead and set it up with the 2.2k resistor and it worked fine...problem solved, right? Not quite. After some fiddling around with settings I got the routine...

I'm waiting for confirmation that this is OK from Arturo before I implement this, I'd hate to fry a new controller before I got to use it!
  11. Re: ehternet smoothstepper/C25 auto zero wiring setup?

I didn't put this in the 1st post but that's actually how I had it wired. What I've done is run an input wire from the touch plate to port1, pin15, bridged the 5vdc pin (between pins 12-13) and pin15...
  12. Re: ehternet smoothstepper/C25 auto zero wiring setup?

Thanks for the reply. So if I run 5v to a touch plate and pin 15 to the probe/tool/spindle, shorting the 2 will not damage the c25 or the ess? Like I said I'm no electronics expert, I know next to...
  13. Re: ehternet smoothstepper/C25 auto zero wiring setup?

When in the data monitoring utility there is no response on pin 15 (in the data monitoring utility) when I short the lead from pin 15 to board GND. The homing sensors are working as expected, pins...
  14. ehternet smoothstepper/C25 auto zero wiring setup?

I've searched for this info but have found next to nothing. The documentation of the CNC4PC c25 board says the way to wire up a probe for auto zero is to run an input wire to the bob on pins 10-13,...

Ahhh so Jcut provided the external motion controller, you didn't add it afterwards. I'm inclined to add an external motion controller instead of a new/old computer. A new computer is probably $100+...

I'm purchasing the same machine and want to upgrade to the ethernet motion controller as well. What did you use for your motion controller? Did you need an additional breakout box to accommodate it?

Any input or info about the dimensional stability of plaster? Does it shrink when it cures? If so is there a predictable rate of shrinkage? What would that be?
