  1. Closed loop 4 axis CNC drive from Indiegogo: the ATOMI project

I am proud to announce our latest creation, ATOMI, the revolutionary multi axis drive for CNC applications. It is a closed loop stepper drive that essentially turns stepping motors into servo motors....

    Re: VSD-E USB Cable

Any TTL-232R with 6 pin connector (5V model recommended, 3.3V probably will work too) will work.

Thanks for update! Yes, the scale of parameters is 0-32767 which is just a 16 bit signed integer number range. PID gains are arbitrary units so scale of the units doesn't matter much.

Resistor sharing works simply hooking up a resistor on one drive which will drain the regenerated from any drive if all drives are connected to the same HV DC supply.

    The same works with Argon...

Yes, 30000 and 7500 are correct values to be entered in GDtool.

Also you need to wire motor to "parallel outputs" way and choose the corresponding motor mode from GDtool. Otherwise peak current...

    Hi Dave,

I recommend setting pin 9 (IN4) as enable/disable because pin 10 (IN3) needs to be low during power-on. Otherwise drive enters in serial communication mode and many of the I/O's then have...

To me all Y axis pictures look good. As long as position response is good, you don't have to worry about velocity tuning (if position mode is good, it means velocity tuning is good as well).

To get more speed, Argon probably is an answer. Current ratings stay about same but voltage rating is 2x of VSD-E helping to drive higher volt motors.
