    Re: Back with Surfcam

A few years now. Not much has changed. Only programming routers and lasers now, so fairly easy stuff.

    Back with Surfcam

Things really doesn't change much with Surfcam traditional does it? Finally drag and drop. CView creation has a little more usability but not much more than that. Leaps and bounds, seems like hops...

    Alphacam usability

How do you like Alphacam? Is it the better software for cnc routers? How is the support and post processor support?

    Re: Chucking

In the machine setup you can choose the way you chuck. But you will probably have to change the setting on the machine to switch from OD to ID chucking.

    Re: nlx2500 mori

We picked one up early this year. It's a good machine and very capable. I don't use the VPS except for making jaws.

On the flip side we also purchases Mazak QTN 350 MSY, I'm more inclined to use...

    Re: Snap issue

There is no geometry there. You have to create it. The solid model imported doesn't create any. You can select the solid model, right click hit copy, then smash it.

    Re: Machine setup

I'm pretty sure it was my machine setup and tool setup. I didn't put my drill in the right direction. Instead of a Z+, it was set as a turning tool. Once I see it a few more time and get my machine...

    Re: HSMWorks thoughts

It's a great software, I think it was designed primarily for people who design more than machine. So far my reseller support has basically told me this is what we have for a mill/turn post. I finally...

Re: Never thought I'd say this

No I think Esprit is a great software. A lot more functionality, than Surfcam. Plus it fits well with the machines coming in!

    HSMWorks thoughts

After 8 years of using Surfcam, I moved on to another place. They purchased HSMWorks and no one uses it here. I've spent the last few months learning it and it isn't too bad to use on the mill side...

    Machine setup

I have a live tool VTL with a C axis. Max diameter is 72" swing. Tool carousel has 24 tools. My question is how to set up my machine? I'm on a trial license, but I can't seem to get the given post to...
  19. Re: Vero Software Announces New Product, SurfCam EVO

I actually had them come in and demo the product today. It looks interesting. As far as usability it looks pretty easy to use. I used the old version of Surfcam for 8 years and it left a lot to be...
