Bed is done. Decided to grind, file and lap the rails by hand. When I say 'lap' I mean wet grind on a flat surface, not with compound.

I'm just a hobbyist but am looking for my Atlas 10" lathe bed reground or even re-machined. the bed is 36"x8". Anyone willing to help me out with a reasonable quote? Original machining marks...

After a little cleaning and close exam... I am coming to the conclusion that this is a late 19th century music wire (piano) winder. Was probably in a store or shop and rolled out wire for sales.
