    Re: UCCNC G53 or G54

Thanks for the suggestion Gerry - I added the X/y/z homing backoffs tonight and it works perfectly with the screenset.

    Cheers - N
  2. Re: converting microswitches to prox sensors problem

Thanks for the pointer to the test version. The homing backoff parameter there works perfectly.

I had a quick look at that thread but the author says it's deprecated essentially by the feature...

    Re: UCCNC G53 or G54

Sorry, yes, I mean precisely the homing backoff distancesfrom the test versions. I just checked and they solve my prox sensor getting stuck in limits after homing perfectly.

    (The offsets that are...

    Re: UCCNC G53 or G54

I'm comfortable coding etc so I'll have a look around first before asking for specific assistance - just knowing that I need to edit the post proc file is the hint I need.

    I also need to modify...
  5. Re: converting microswitches to prox sensors problem

Thankyou for that - great info. I'll check if the 2017 screenset works with the test release and if not will try the faster backoff.

    Cheers - N

    Re: UCCNC G53 or G54

    Sorry Hijack.

I have just spent a while in the last couple of days trying to find out if that was normal... I have been manually editing out the G0 G53 Z0 from the start (and end) of the F360...
  7. converting microswitches to prox sensors problem

    Equipment:
    UC300ETH + EB1
    existing limit/home switches - N/O Microswitches, 5 of them all individually connected to X103-X107 (X-, X+, Y-, Y+, Z-)

Works just fine, except the microswitches were...
  8. Re: Bought machine and want/need to change controller - recommendations?

Heh - I already have a USB-RS485 and a 232-485 adaptor on order so I will probably switch when they get here rather than continue to bash my head against a cheap VFD. Thanks for confirming it's...
  9. Re: Bought machine and want/need to change controller - recommendations?

got it in place and working in about 45 minutes this evening... I am waiting for a lot of parts (contactor, better safety circuit components, prox switches instead of microswitches etc etc etc) so...

    Re: New UC300ETH breakout board.

Thankyou for the very quick response. I suspected it would be a non-functional improvement but thought it best to check. I'm about to start swapping out the UCNCv4 board now so wish me luck :-)

    I...

    Re: New UC300ETH breakout board.

Hi All... I just received a UB1/UC300ETH from CNCroom and I noticed it's a board revision 1.6 (dated 25/07/18 in handwriting on the board) but the manual online refers to PCB ver 1.5... I have had a...
  12. Re: Bought machine and want/need to change controller - recommendations?

Ahhh - It would seem from more searching that the +10v comes from the VFD as an input to the UB1 and that's used to send back the 0-10v as an analog signal? Is that right?

    Cheers - N
  13. Re: Bought machine and want/need to change controller - recommendations?

Ergh - I think I may have made a mistake with my order... I ordered the UC300ETH-UB1 combo, but I _DIDN'T_ get the AnaSpeed converter... I can't really tell yet whether or not I need it to use my...
  14. Re: Bought machine and want/need to change controller - recommendations?

Ummed and ahhed for a while, then noticed that the UC300ETH / UB1 combo was on special at CNCroom so have ordered that.

Is there anything else (apart from a 24V PSU) that I'll need to change over?...
  15. Bought machine and want/need to change controller - recommendations?

Hi all - I just bought a home-made CNC router with what looks like a Chinese knockoff of the PlanetCNC controller. The router seems to be a bit of a monster.. Supported rails, 800*800*350(!)...
  16. Re: Mach3 no longer works in Windows 10 as of version 1803

Oops, good reason. I am way out of the loop. My Mach3 hasn't seen the Internet for ages! It does "just work". I'm building a new machine though and won't be moving across the current PC or...
  17. Re: Mach3 no longer works in Windows 10 as of version 1803

How on earth is this the response:

"New Win10 Update kills Mach3, DON'T do the update!"

    instead of

"New Win10 Update kills Mach3, Mach3 should be fixed!"

    Presumably there's a good reason...

Re: NZ newbie here need advice

Hi Patrick! Neil G here... I recently bought a 6040CNC and am about to embark on building a much larger/stronger machine. The machine I have has been retrofitted with what seems like pretty solid...

Re: Gantry design profile question / geometry?

Thanks for that - very useful thread and interesting to know there doesn't appear to be a mechanical advantage (or enough to be useful) in the offset. I see exactly what you mean by bring the back...

Gantry design profile question / geometry?

[Sorry, initially posted in an inappropriate section - MANY forums here!]

Hi all - first post but I have bought a pretty well sorted 6040 as an exercise to learn about CAM and various basic...
