    Re: TNG Progress

Installed new November version no problems but have not yet tried out.
But the update function still refers to the 10/28 release as the current one.

    Re: TNG Progress

    Thanks Rat,
I did figure that the folder should be in the profile and even created one. But since the folder was empty, the menu item was greyed out.
I have now created a dummy script and voila!...

    Re: TNG Progress

    1. What about those who want to keep it running? Everybody has different needs that is why scripts are implemented. They allow you to customize behavior of software for your own needs.

    Re: TNG Progress

A few suggestions for the next version. Not a big deal but it would help:
    - turn off spindle automatically when stopping in the middle of a program run. I know I can add M5 to the "stop" script in...
  5. Re: Blending function does not work in 3D

Just experimented with the "Join" angle: When I change it from zero to 8 degrees the motion for the ramped spiral becomes as smooth as for the flat spiral. (I suppose this is similar to the CNCUSB...
  6. Re: Blending function does not work in 3D

Thanks, I will send the settings file.
FWIW, the effect can not be seen in the simulation. But on the real machine it becomes obvious.
I will try to make a video clip that compares the flat...
  7. Blending function does not work in 3D

I got TNG V2 running and for the most part it looks very good.
However, I notice the blending feature (I have it set at the default values of 1.5mm / 0 degrees / 135 degrees) seems to work only if...

    Re: TNG Progress

Questions about the rotary speed calculation with an a-axis indexer....
    - Does the speed calculation for all axes use the angle*radius distance for the rotary movement?
    - Or does it just use the...

    Re: TNG Progress

I was trying to use the new Transformation Matrix feature in the settings default tab. But when I enter any value for the B0 parameter, and click "OK", then it will not save it. When I open the...

    Re: TNG Progress

Thanks, but you need to have a little mercy with us users who are not Windows wizards. I managed to find the scripts folder eventually, deleted everything and then indeed the software works.
    The...

    Re: TNG Progress

I have the same errors when trying to start the machine. Nothing works. Some files don't even load that were no problem on CNC-USB software. Frustrated....
But where are the old scripts that I need...

    Re: TNG Progress

Thanks, just downloaded and tried in simulation mode. Looking good so far. Will try tomorrow on the machine.
    Questions and some beta findings:
    - Same license info as for the V1 version, I guess?
    -...

    Re: TNG Progress

Got a sneak preview of the changes? Especially the support of rotary machining (incl. graphical preview) and making the transformation matrix "stick" when the program is closed like the old software?

    Re: Small Portable Machine

I have picked the size of this specific machine so that I can install it on a tray with havy-duty drawer slides and just pull it out of the storage compartments of the motorhome. All not finished yet...

    Re: Small Portable Machine

I noticed (unlike my bigger machine) that the small size makes me run often into the mechanical limits while experimenting.
Not really a big deal or damage but unpleasant and the closed loop...

    I hope not...
One problem might be that may run into problems or project needs that I can not take care of with the limited tools and materials to take with me. But let's see. If I get stuck so...

  23. Re: Chinese 3040 parallel port machine and MK3/4

Thanks, I am sure I can make it work somehow.
The MK3DRV looks interesting. Is that a Trinamic Silent Step chip on there or what is the actual driver?
Also, while the nominal voltage is supposed to...
  24. Chinese 3040 parallel port machine and MK3/4

Can I expect the 26/25 pin connector of the MK3/4 board hook up with the DB25 of a cheap Chinese 30/40 (like this one) machine and work somewhat out of the box?
These are intended for PC parallel...

    Re: Small Portable Machine
