Z issue
Open your CoordSys Data. Check the tool start level (Between operations, Z will go to the clearance after the cut then to the tool start level then back to clearance then safety distance...
Did you contact your reseller? They should be able to e-mail one to you quickly. Most of the time cheap or free.
I use SolidCAM and like it. I would recommend shopping for the needed features in the software then talk to the resellers of the top 3. Reseller support and knowledge is a topic that is often...
Are you using a delta in the levels page?
We are not aware of any issues with 2013 SP5 HF2 . I am not able to do what you describe as well. I tried a closed chain and a self-intersecting profile. The links work on the first pass of both...
It would help if you told us the year and service pack you are running.
Is there a reason you do not put that information in the Part Tool Table? I would put the information in the “Description” FIELD or in Message field in the Tool Message TAB.
NOTE: This will show up...
Did you remedy this? The above quote would suggest your coordinate system could be off, assuming the top of the part has the same Z level (in the real world).
3D engraving is what I would do if changing the fixture is not an option. Create a "target" and choose the profile, done. :)
Where are you located in the US? What state?
Have you tried using cylindrical stock instead of auto box boundary? That should eliminate all the air cuts with the exception of when the tool is external.
I'll have to check on the other issue...
The first thing I would do is synchronize the target and stock. Then CHECK synchronization and synchronize the operations. Do this one operation at a time. DO NOT calculate the operation until you...
First of all you may be confusing target and stock.
Target = what SolidCAM "looks" at to create 3D tool paths
Stock = what you see in solid verify it changes with the addition of an operation.
...
1.) Open the geometry for that operation (like you were going to create another chain)
2.) Grab one of your chains and drag it to the correct location.
Let us know what helped.
I found this to be a plus. The .prz file still "sees" any updates to original file. I like it because it will allow the programmer to add 3D stock bodies, work area sketches, models of a vise or...
Did you try the easy stuff first? If not lower the number in solidcam facet tolerance. Keep us updated.
This should help.
SolidCAM 2009 Transform - YouTube
I would use a pocket operation and mark the "open edges" This will allow you to choose between hatch or contour.
I would be nice if you could add drilling to this app. Thanks for the hard work.
Thanks for the tips. Great info. Thanks for sharing.
I would import the photo into SolidWorks then trace and model the part.
I would then use SolidCAM to generate the tool paths.
What are your thoughts / experience with basic CAM classes through the software reseller? What was taught and what was not covered? Why was it better then online tutorials? How could you have been...
I would model the parts with design intent in mind.
If you have similar part numbers / configurations, model in a way that the features can be easily suppressed or changed as needed.
If there are...
