If anyone with a lathe can make some spindle replacement for this thing I'll pay them a hundred...
Awesome. The ports and pins setting was the one i was missing. that or a combination of the two. I've got one last snag and i'll be golden! (coordinates mistake) thanks guys!
Im trying to make my first 3 axis cut on my taig/gecko setup and everything is working perfect ....except the movement of the z axis.
While all the movements are occuring, they are backwards,...

very nice model. I have been scouring this site for quite some time looking for an example of smoothly contoured models brought from a 3D application to a tangible realworld object and i have to say...
Anyone? how big of a block can I work with on an X3? It lists as having area of
(15 7/8") x (5 3/4") x (14 3/4"); so am I to believe i could stick a block having those dimensions onto it and start...

Thanks a lot Jalessi. Very helpfull information that website especially. Does anyone know for sure how big of a block i can work with on an X3?

I'm currently considering getting an X3 from Harbor Freight and I’ve come up with a few questions.

You've hit the nail on the head CR. By no means did i expect that work envelope to be plausible at $3000.
Well looking at the X3 i just cant justify the extra work and cost with what i see.

I really like the taig machine! Aside from the fact that the work envelope is slightly smaller than i had hoped, i feel like its a great deal and a great machine. I only wonder now is there anything...
this topic has been covered a lot on these forums. dont quote me but i beleive sherline and taig were the names that come up most often for small work area and high accuracy. do a search.
Can someone explain to me why the Z axis is so limited in a lot of these CNC machines??
I am new at the hobby and am still shopping for my first machine but i cant seem to find a machine with the...
