The MPC03...

Thanks for all the help, I finally got stuck into it, and did some "half split" fault finding, found the o/c coil and bypassed and now going ok, we just need to fill the gaps with silastic. Amos
Thanks Al, now to dig through miles of hardened silastic to get to the entry point of the lead!, hoping there might be a surge resistor that may have gone high, Amos

Almost ashamed to admit it---- cleaned the mirrors, not so much the mirrors, but the focus mirror, which requires the head to be removed, and, much more difficult-the end of the actual laser tube!!...

For me the answer to the last question is straight forward, go for a Laser that has good Service back up. I learnt the hard way-twice. Unfortunately, sometimes the financial circumstances force us...
W thank you very much, will do so. Amos
Thanks for those replies, they raise questions in my mind, up to now I have used the red dot to set the correct distance from my work in the Z axis. I did do the normal Laser alignment recently, have...
My Laser Engraver has a red dot for ease of focusing and positioning, suddenly it disappeared, so I did some circuit tracing and found that one of the wires that supplies it with 5 volts was broken,...
Thanks, I will try that fix before trying anything else, Amos
Dave, I could not get the current software/hardware to work on Windows 7.
That means another Computer in the workshop, also my understanding is you can do more / better with LaserCut 5.3, Amos
Thanks for your replies, however, my current machine currently runs on LaserCut 5.1 and that also uses PWM, This new card, uses LaserCut 5.3 and apart from improvements on LaserCut 5.1 the basics of...
Can anyone help me please?! I contacted my supplier and they said my machine could be converted to the MPC6515 Controller and then I could use LaserCut 5.3; In my mind I thought this was a simple...
Well done, when using MDF do you go for the white MDF or some different colour? Amos
Thanks again bpoulin, I have noticed that sometimes what looks awful on the computer screen comes out well on the engraver! Amos
Thanks for your input "bpoulin", I will try out your suggestions, including Lasercut 5.3 and let you know. Bitmap can be saved as 1 bit, 4 bit, 8bit etc. that is why I asked for that, thinking more...
OK, thanks Skip, I went straight from the Photograv saved image to import on the Lasercut and it worked, BUT--and a big BUT---- the result isn't that good as you mentioned, so that begs the...
Skip, tonight I will try what you have told me, it makes sense--I will let you know how I go--. just hope it is "finger trouble" on my part--another way of saying I need to know what I am doing.!!!...
Hello Skip, thanks for answering, I already possess Photograv, but cannot use the images directly from PhotoGrav because it is not in one bit Bitmap, so by the time I do a conversion to 1 Bit Bitmap,...
