    Re: Trouble with model

Once you no longer need the original part, you can open the "SOLID BODIES" list and delete the corresponding body. See attached.
The "DELETE BODY" then becomes a feature at the bottom of your tree.

Are you in an assembly (.sldasm) or part file (.sldprt)?

    Dave,
What is your email to send the quote?
  4. Re: Need help rebuilding mold for my Porto-type swim bait.

    Tom,
We have laser scanning capabilities. If you send me a photo of your part, I could give you a cost to create a 3D CAD model from the existing part.

    Re: Mold base

    Brian,

Yes, I would go with the U Frame.
I've not used the FITS frames but I'm sure they are just PCS's version. They would be fine it probably just comes down to price.
    We have used the I/C...

    Re: Mold base

Brian, unless you are in the mold making business, I would recommend just purchasing a MUD frame from DME. You can always make (or have made) your own inserts. Cooling should be in the inserts, not...

Re: Mould Design? Detail possible with 3mm ABS?

    GOM,
With vacuum forming, you most certainly will get some sort of radius in those corners.
You might do better with pressure forming for more detail.
I don't think you would get sharp corners on...

    Re: Lightweight Mold Options

    Mothman,
A lot depends on the complexity of the geometry, the number of casings you want to create, and of course cost.
Depending on the shape, size and aesthetics you may even consider vacuum...

Re: Large Cast Part, Rigid Mould Advice

I agree with Andrew. A CNC machined Renhape or Aluminum mold would work fine but cost may be an issue.
If you take the time and expense to machine a master pattern you might as well machine a mold.
