Curious, how are you setting tool offsets with just a probe and no "tool offset" measuring device. Oh, and thanks for the great info, plan on doing the same on my 96 VF2! :)
Is the battery reading 3.15v at the motherboard after the machine has been off for awhile?
So I figured this out after removing the board and tracing the route visually. Turned out the big resistor (looks to be a 2W size) that drops the 165 or so DC voltage going to the trim pot was...
The light does come on. I'll check the resistor anyway. Thanks.
I'm having a similar problem on a 1994 Haas VF2. At first it would let me clear the alarm and I could use the machine. But now it wont let me clear it. The diags page shows 100 volts on the DC...
You're misquoting me! I said "The only reason that I have BobCAD was because the salesman threw it in free when I upgraded to Bobcad for Solidworks v2 (maybe v3, cant remember for sure)." I never...
I use to train employees on computer software (Lotus 123, Wordperfect, Word, Excel, etc.. And yes, very long ago!! :) In my experience, ANYONE that had previous DOS program experience (Lotus...
You misunderstood BurrMan, on a number of points.
The salesman threw in BobCad v26 when I upgraded Bobcam for Solidworks to V3. I know it's confusing because of BobCad's naming convention,...
I'll throw my two cents in on my experiences with CAD CAM software, as I currently own Solidworks (2010, standard version), BobCAD v26 (I think) Mill/Lathe Pro version, and BobCAM for Solidworks v3. ...
Mine said that, "call for activation", but it did an auto demo activation anyway (in the software). I'd suggest reinstalling it, putting in some US address for your info and seeing if that will work.
You should be able to download the US demo version from http://www.onecnc.net/today/download.htm
I havent used the demo much, but it looks fairly straight forward and well laid out (I've taught...
Well at least knowing it is commonly called nesting puts me in the right direction. Now I can search my help file to see if it has it. Provided they use the same terminology. :(
Thanks!

Do most of the popular Cad/Cam programs have a function that you can tell it the dimensions of the stock and it will automatically try and layout as many pieces of your part to get the most parts out...
I've had problems with two dremels and the variable speed control on them. I currently have a Black & Decker and it is holding up so far. One of the Dremels lasted about 5 years, the other less...
$282 seems inexpensive for a new vfd and 1 hp motor from what else I've read (which isn't much). Are there better deals out there (on new stuff)?
Cool, thanks for the info!
btw, after rereading your previous reply, I think you already answered my question.. you are moving the table in such small increments that you wouldnt experience the problem I describe. I assume...
Do you do something in the driver that compensates for movements that would cause one leg to move a large amount and the other leg a small amount? If not, wouldn't one leg reach it's desired length...
Q: When it sees a G code command like move X +1", does the controller move each stepper in small increments repeatively until it reachs the spot (ie, step leg 1 1 step, step leg 2 1 step, etc...
