  1. Sticky: Re: YAPSC:10V : The glue between Step/dir and +/-10V servo amp

I have send you a PM.

    Regards,
    Luc.
  2. Sticky: Re: YAPSC:10V : The glue between Step/dir and +/-10V servo amp

    Hello,

it has been a long time since my last post, I didn't have the spare time required.

There are still some boards and components available.

PM doesn't work so please contact me using the...

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

    Upgraded TB6600 ????
The TB6600 is rated at 5A max, this one at 4A = 20% downgrade in my book.

It has a completely different chip, the housing of this one is not designed for heat dissipation.

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

Those could be remarked THB6064H's, these have seperate OSC input's for each channel, one of the decay mode pins is used for an osc input. This could explain why the motor turns strange, actually on...

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

The schematic is there since the beginning and proves the bad design quality.
Those 330K are useless indeed, shows how well the designer did read the datasheet...
    Removing these is difficult...

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

The schematic for the N2 board is attached at post 5 of this thread and it doesn't have a 74xx14, only transistors.
The N6 looks similar to the N2, you could use my schematic as a guide.

Re: stepper motor amp/ driver amp

I can only find this info:
    http://www.electrocraft.com/files/ead_step.pdf
Looks like it are 210 oz-in (pag 8).
The 5A/10A would indicate that it are 8 wire motors which can be used in parallel or...

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

1: This is a problem with your BOB or wiring, the drive should be disabled if the enable input is activated, but can't remember if I checked this.
2: The N2 board is the one I have tested here and...
  10. Re: 4.5A THB6064AH Single Axis Stepper Motor Driver Review

Agree, I misunderstood because you replied this:

to tinky1233 (I'm probably not the only one who did).

You are using the drive at 24V and 2.5A if I read correct?
This is only 1/3th of the...
  11. Re: 4.5A THB6064AH Single Axis Stepper Motor Driver Review

Think you made the wrong decision by buying the chinese, they do have inferior components as you said: the electrolytic capacitors will heat up and die soon, open sided connectors, etc..
    I think...
  12. Re: Damaged stepper driver, can some one help me with tips on repair?

This measurement will give a good indication but not a 100% good/bad one.
It's best to do this with all mosfets removed, the shorted ones MUST be removed or the measurement is useless.
    To remove...
  13. Re: Damaged stepper driver, can some one help me with tips on repair?

I'm not sure that the driver chips will be bad, depends on the supply voltage used. Measuring the outputs with a DVM in diode setting might give an indication.
To be sure a scope is needed,...
  14. Re: Damaged stepper driver, can some one help me with tips on repair?

You said some mosfets are shorted, check if these are shorted to the gate also (they alsmost certainly will be). There's a big chance that the IR chips are gone too.

I would remove all fet's and...

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

    Good decision...

The chip is quite hot at currents above 2.5Amp and some other components also heat up depending on the supply voltage.
Best solution is a small breeze from a fan to keep...

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

That are a lot of changes, there won't be much left of the original board.

The 30% torque reduction will indeed be too low for some machines, depends on leadscrew pitch. Better is to do like the...

    Re: TB6600 drive from EBAY

  19. Re: Nema34 required to get high torque at 30-120 RPM

The RPM's you are looking for are rather low, you only need that high voltage supply for torque at fast speeds. Your driver + supply setup should have plenty of torque at 60 RPM.

    Had a quick...

Re: THB6064H(4.5A)-Stepping Motor Driver IC 4.5amp

    Sorry for the late reply.

The motor heat is caused by the incorrect current setting for the series connection,
20% decay will generate less heat than 80% but this will be marginal.
    Did you try...

I can't find a real datasheet for these motors.
Looks like the current setting is to high for series connection.
It would be better to use the half-coil connection and keep the 1.5Amp current...
