Hi even though i have the budget to make my own cnc machine i was wondering if i could get some feedback on the pros and cons from buying a cnc router from china. i will give a break down of the...
Just one last question how do I know how much to tighten/preloaded the ballscrew?
Sorry for the questions
Thanks that's good to hear :)
Think i am going to go with this method i have done, ballscrew machined flat to prevent it from turning once plates are attached and then bolted through the ballscrew its self and then once adjusted...
Interesting, would something like this work so it screws onto the ballscrew and then tightened and then bolted to the mounting plate or would this be significantly weaker then a nut?
Thanks

Thank you for the reply do you have a cad model to demonstrate this? If it wasn't for the rotating ballnut it would be simple by just having 2 fixes bk supports. Or does anyone have a picture of one...
Not when using a rotating ballnut or moving ballnut some may call it
How about the ballscrew, it is important that the ballscrew doesnt spin and i feel as if a nut at the end aint enough. i was thinking of making a plate that slots over the thread pretty much like a...
thanks this would help :)
forgive me for asking what might be a stupid question to you all but ive never dealt with slotted holes this way before and its quite important. this is just a rough template but say i make a plate...
what i mean is having steel or aluminium plates either end with the ballscrew attached either end and tentioned but the steel frame isnt truly flat on the sides only the tops are machined flat for...
as above does anyone on here use a ballscrew and a rotating ball nut? just looking for ideas on how to fix the ballscrew both ends and i cant seem to find any examples anywhere.
thanks
Hi sorry for being dumb here but how to I find out if its set to 0.01 or 0.1mm in the file? All I do in solidworks is go to hole wizard change type to tapped hole and size to m8 that's it. It's...
having my plates sent of to be milled and drilled so i really dont want to make any mistakes here. so if i go of the bk12 ballscrew support here then the hole diameter according to the spec sheet is...
Using nema 34 closed loops 10Nm on all 3 axis. Its the pulley ratio and pitch size I'm unsure on too. I was going with 2525 screws with 2:1 but I think 32mm might be best?
could someone tell me what the ratio would be if i went with 32mm dia and 32mm pitch to achieve 10mm pitch? im guessing 3:1 or am i wrong
edit: also goal is to aim for acceleration rather then...
trying to figure out a few problems here
if i am cutting into 200mm thick soft wood which is my maximum cutting height and cutting 3d that goes up to 150mm deep then that means the z axis plate...
thanks for the reply

Thank you
Hi when designing your machine in cad and calculating z axis height do I measure from the bottom of the collet to the top of the spoil board or from the end of the drill bit to the top of the spoil...
Thanks for your input, i just don't want to under make the machine that's all and considering that 3d carving requires slow feedrates most of the time then why not make it strong to cut aluminium and...
how straight are aluminium extrusions? trying to decide if i should go with a full steel gantry which means alot of work and epoxy resin for mounting linear rails or if aluminium extrusions are just...
