I have no knowledge on your planned application, but if you're looking for "spacer" material you might check with these folks. They are great to deal with. Good luck.

You might look at some Flat Head Cap screws for attaching the plate, if you have a countersink. Good luck. Ron
Did you check out zarzul's 13X40 conversion. Similar machines and you might get some ideas.

Richard,
Like Pete said, you're sure gonna have fun with that ATC. You'll have to be careful not to fall asleep, since you won't be needed anymore after the "start" is hit. Beautiful job on the...

I forgot. You might try hitting your "return" key twice after you type the message, then paste your video link.

Richard, your determination produced a much nicer result than the pans would have. Excellent job.

Richard, FANTASTIC! job on the ATC. Your idea of using the cake pans sure would be easier, huh? Could use use two and trim the lip off the second one and cut it down for your inner door? Were you...
I look forward to your findings. I have been struggling with the "best" solution to counter the excessive head weight, also. I'm going to start with static weight on chains and hope I don't need a...
I'm sorry, I need to go to bed, I just noticed you're using EMC2 so ignore my last post.

Alan,
I'm really unsure on this, but when you select the "post processor" under the "machining tab" did you select the Mach3-CV option? The CV stands for Cut Viewer and I thought it might add the...

Nice work. Looks really heavy duty and rugged. Hope you keep your build updated, it looks very interesting.

Is there a chance something got into a ballnut, causing the "thunk" and lost steps?
Is there a chance something got in a ballnut, causing the :lost steps"...just a thought.

Arvid, I'll see if I can find the info regarding the "L bracket". Hopefully Arizonavideo will see your post and lead us to the link.
I know what you mean on which path to take. I think I'm going to try Arizona's method first, then I can always come back and cut the web out. Good luck.

Richard, you might consider Kydex. It is very rigid even in thin dimensions, but should flex enough to allow the holders in.

Richard,
You should be good to go. The only new one I have with the groove is 1.1595 OD.
Try this one.

Congratulations on the new mill, you should hqave alot of fun making stuff for the bikes. BTW nice results on the CRF @ 45+ hp.

Don't forget the little Allen screw on the left side (by the quill lock).
Mine is a RF copy. The distance from the table face to lowest part of the feet is 9-3/4".
Hope this helps.
Congratulations on your new toy. I'm looking forward to your build. I have one like it and always looking for new ideas. Have fun and I sure admire your RC work.

Richard, VERY NICE!. Looks like you have a great plan. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to watching your progress.

Could you use a thick spacer for your drawbar/quill spacer to gain the disc spring clearance?
Richard and Pete, thank you for your kind compliments. I have not started my own thread due to lack of time to work on this project, but I hope this will change soon. Richard, I think GD placed his...
Richard,
I think a 3/16" broach will work just fine for your pulley's. That is the size I am using on my conversion with the same motor you have, and it fits the slot just fine. After reading...
If you do the tramming at the Z slide, there shouldn't be any Z movement error (providing the column has a good tram).
