  4. Re: Epoxy granite or UHPFRC Concrete 5 axis CNC

You should do a long term test for creep with different post curing. Some polymer concrete maybe ok for routers.

    Re: Reusable HDPE mold

Any kind of plastic would be better than sealing wood moulds. I used glass and this gave superb finish and reasonable flatness. Exotherm isn't a problem once you have large mass and only 12% epoxy it...
  13. Re: Why no one has done an EG lathe so far?

Good choice for lathe material. Lots of Gang Tool lathes use polymer concrete bases.

  17. Re: Linear rails bolted to steel members with hard epoxy surface in between.

Standard epoxy self leveled is good to about 0.2mm /600mm. Better than the steel but can be scaped to be better if you have a strait edge or steel wire setup. Its a good start to getting close to an...

Re: Wich are the best filler for Epoxy?

The aggragtes and fines used in concrete (cement) can be used in epoxy granit. Large stones 10-15mm down to fine sands graded to fill the voides. Sharpe stones add strength but make it harder to mix...

  22. Re: Advantages of epoxy vs cement concrete cnc?

The main reason to use epoxy is stability. Cement is forever drying and gaining strength 20+ years and its still drying. There is also significant creep long term in cement based concrete.

  24. Re: Spindle motor - replace with servo for positioning ?

Servo will give good positioning and low speed torque. An induction motor can be positioned with a closed loop vector vfd. Depends on what you need to do.
  25. Re: Linear Guides have varying resistance along rail?
