  6. Selling My Entire Metal Shop: CNC, Milling, Turning, Sheetmetal, etc.

Hi guys, its been a while since I have been active on the forums or machining itself -- just life stuff. Now I’m moving across the country from NJ to TX and in the new place I do not have room for...

Hi, does anyone know how to connect an Renishaw MI8-4 probe interface to a Fadal VMC15. The connection involves the lower row of pins in the J12 connector of the 1060 board. However, I'm not sure...

Re: BobCad function to create webbing ?

Hi, this is what I was talking about. My solids were crashing when doing it by hand. Eventually I managed to finish them up.

BobCad function to create webbing ?

    Hi all,

I seem to recall a demo or a list of features where BobCad offered a function to do webbing. This would be removing pockets of material while keeping ridges in triangular shapes, a 90...

Re: ATC Will Not Move To Spindle

Yes, it seems that the issue is lining up the Z to the correct height. Strange because the machine was working fine till Sunday. Monday I spent 1/2 the day doing manual tool changes.

    Back when I...

ATC Will Not Move To Spindle

    Hi all,

Got a problem, a "ATC will not move to spindle" message. The issue seems to be with releasing the tool. Manual changes are okay. Loading a tool from the ATC when the spindle is empty is...

  15. What do I need to hook up a Renishaw TS27R and a MP11 to a VMC15?

    Hi,

Before I order the probes I would like to know what I need to get them going. Do I need a board? Where do they hookup?

Do you have experience running these on a VMC15? Does everything...

Re: How to get pats within tolerance?

The spindle was noisy at first, but then the noise went away. A 4" facemill leaves a beautiful finish. I'll run as you suggest and also check if the spindle moves. Thanks!

How to get pats within tolerance?

    Hi,

So I milled a few pieces and among other things it seems that just because you can go fast on your IPM it does not mean you want to.

    Milling 6061 I went 7500 RPM and 135 IPM on a 3 flute...

Re: Fixture Offset -- At the end of my wits

Ha, that is kinds like I used to do it with Mach3. Thought there it was easier because it would retain your home and only change the fixture offset. Thanks.

Re: Fixture Offset -- At the end of my wits

    Thanks for that!

I use the Z offset because it is a bunch of different parts that use a total of 8 tools. So I only need to zero the tools once and then set the offset for each of the setups. ...

Re: What does the H word do?

Cool thanks. That is a weird way of doing it, that it does not pick up the offsets automatically, but at least I know what is going on.

What does the H word do?

    HI,

The manual says "In Format 2 the H word will only pick up the tool length offset. It is also used for Tool timers selection" and the gcode looks like this:
