Apologies for the delay in posting the pics. Here we go…
Hi guys, its been a while since I have been active on the forums or machining itself -- just life stuff. Now I’m moving across the country from NJ to TX and in the new place I do not have room for...
Hi folks,
I'm printing a part that is about 204 mm long on the X axis and 10 mm tall. However, the heigh on the left side is 10.59 mm and on the right side is 9.42 mm.
The solid in Fusion 360...
Hi, does anyone know how to connect an Renishaw MI8-4 probe interface to a Fadal VMC15. The connection involves the lower row of pins in the J12 connector of the 1060 board. However, I'm not sure...
Hi, this is what I was talking about. My solids were crashing when doing it by hand. Eventually I managed to finish them up.

Hi all,
I seem to recall a demo or a list of features where BobCad offered a function to do webbing. This would be removing pockets of material while keeping ridges in triangular shapes, a 90...
SUPER GENIUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That did it.
Thank you so much Rodney!!
Yes, it seems that the issue is lining up the Z to the correct height. Strange because the machine was working fine till Sunday. Monday I spent 1/2 the day doing manual tool changes.
Back when I...
Hi all,
Got a problem, a "ATC will not move to spindle" message. The issue seems to be with releasing the tool. Manual changes are okay. Loading a tool from the ATC when the spindle is empty is...
Thanks!! Not exactly plug and play :)
Hi,
Before I order the probes I would like to know what I need to get them going. Do I need a board? Where do they hookup?
Do you have experience running these on a VMC15? Does everything...
The spindle was noisy at first, but then the noise went away. A 4" facemill leaves a beautiful finish. I'll run as you suggest and also check if the spindle moves. Thanks!
Hi,
So I milled a few pieces and among other things it seems that just because you can go fast on your IPM it does not mean you want to.
Milling 6061 I went 7500 RPM and 135 IPM on a 3 flute...
Ha, that is kinds like I used to do it with Mach3. Thought there it was easier because it would retain your home and only change the fixture offset. Thanks.
Thanks for that!
I use the Z offset because it is a bunch of different parts that use a total of 8 tools. So I only need to zero the tools once and then set the offset for each of the setups. ...
Thanks for the reply!
The below is from memory, so there could be a few key strokes I'm missing. Still it may help someone starting from zero like myself...
1) Yes, that worked. Did it as...
Hi,
I 'm sure this is pretty simple once you get it, but I have spent hours trying different things and hitting the emergency stop... lol
So, I entered all tool offsets by using one of these...
Ha! That is helpful Thanks!
Cool thanks. That is a weird way of doing it, that it does not pick up the offsets automatically, but at least I know what is going on.
I suppose the "Z1.06" is just a rapid that happens to be in...
HI,
The manual says "In Format 2 the H word will only pick up the tool length offset. It is also used for Tool timers selection" and the gcode looks like this:
T1 M6
G90 S7500 M3
G54 X-2.305...
Thanks Superman... LOL
That Amz coupler did the trick. Also learned that to load a grease gun is a skill. Got a blob of the stuff smack on my sneakers. It good grease... went all the way into...
Thanks. I ordered the ones in the Amazon link and they seem to work. I have not pumped the grease yet, so I hope they do not pop out. Could have used angled ones as the space is a bit tight on the...
Is this what I need?

Hi everyone,
So, it has these nipples (pic 1). I suppose that is one for the screw and 4 for the pieces that run on the linear guides. It would seems that you would want some sort of quick...
Thanks the 2 bolts towards the front were covered by gunk and I did not see them in the diagrams. All cleaned up now, waiting for the grease to arrive. Thanks!!
Under that panel the only thing I...
