  2. Re: Why most (non-router) milling machines don't use self-contained spindle?

I decided to test my Chinese ATC spindle for end play after seeing that video. I was a bit worried. I took the tool holder out and zeroed on the face. I actuated the release and observed the dial....

  4. Re: pls, how to remove the beep sound, when pressing a key or touching the screen ?

Most speakers have a 2 wire plug going to them that can just be unplugged. Is the speaker mounted directly on a circuit board. A picture might help determine the best way to unhook it. As for...

Re: David A's New 2x3 Bench Top CNC

It looks like you used the same setup for the rotating ball nut as used on northwood machines. I posted a similar design here somewhere many years back. It looks really good. Very professional.

  7. Re: loading tools using their pocket number in G Code on Haas CNC mill

Pretty sure there is a screen that will allow you to always return a certain tool to the same pocket. It requires the changer to make a extra tool change. Whatever tool is in the spindle is switched...

    Re: BT30 Drawbar Rookie Question

Thru spindle coolant is usually done via a rotary union mounted on the top of the spindle shaft. The shaft is hollow and the coolant flows into the spinning shaft via the union. The union has a...

You are missing a lot of what's being said. I think going by the amount of posts your trying hard. You should probably stop testing the motor for now. You instead need to use the help files in...

Re: Geo correction not always working

The results are in. I put the look ahead back at 10. The change you suggested is working great. I now have a max error of .005 total deviation. That is on all moves at all speeds tested jog and code....

I tried lowering the look ahead to 1 second. Yes it made a drastic improvement. The error during moves running from g-code are now on par with those during jogging. The error seems to be the same at...

Re: Geo correction not always working

Yes your graph shows what I am describing. My look ahead is set at 10 seconds. The feed rates for the tests in both jogging and g-code/mdi were at 50 and 150ipm. Yes I observed the actual error...

    Geo correction not always working

I have created a Geo correction file similar to what I have done in the past. I lined a precision straight edge up in x. It was at zero on the test indicator mounted in the spindle and touching each...

Could it be the cable causing the problem. If it happens sometimes and not others that could indicate a break or intermittent connection.

Re: Looking for Spindle selection input

Depending on what your needs are you probably won't need 3 phase for your vfd. Most of the spindles in the range your looking can have the drive powered by regular 220.
