Re: Why a radius around external corners?

A radius around the corner is a shorter path and accomplishes the same thing. Shorter path means less time. A shorter path hundreds of times means a lot less time.

    Re: Keyboard enabled on startup?

Well I figured out what was going on. I was scrolling through the config screens looking for something and stumble upon this. (see photo)

I cleared that line and restarted Mach4 (Lines still...

    Re: Keyboard enabled on startup?

My pendant is a number pad. I just use it to move the machine around to setup the job. Once setup, it's cycle start on the panel door. Not a big deal. After not having to do this for ever with mach3...

Ok so I'm guessing that it's not possible to enable jogging on startup. Thank you for trying.

    Here is something I noticed.

The message box poped up. No change on the issue. Button enabled but keyboard will not jog until the button is clicked twice. I thought the KeyBoardInputToggle() routine in the Screen Script file...

    Re: Keyboard enabled on startup?

Yeah I tried that. heres the text from my previous post.

"Also where it says set register to 1 i edited it to a zero and again the lathe worked and the mill did not."

    Basically all it does is...

I have done exactly what you have detailed but no workie. The lathe profile worked but the mill profile does not. The button is lit green but the key presses do not move the DRO. Then I have to click...

    Keyboard enabled on startup?

I have seen a few posts on other forums about enabling the keyboard jogging when Mach4 starts up. I tried all the of the suggestions and none worked. Some lit up the button but I could not move the...
  12. Re: Cheap vs expensive collets and nuts for aluminum surface finish?

    Mine are 5C collets

3 - 26mm in 1 mm steps I got used in brand new condition for $150 (Hardinge)
    1/64 - 1-1/8 in 1/64 steps i got used for $250 (Royal)

I make miniature sparkplugs as well as...
  13. Re: Cheap vs expensive collets and nuts for aluminum surface finish?

This is funny but I just used my 17/32 collet 2 days ago to hold a part for second side machining. Most of my collet use isn't to hold tooling but to hold parts for machining without leaving jaw...
  14. Re: Man, am I the only one that wants a highly accurate machine?

You must be because i'm happy with the machines I have. On my lathe, once the spindle warms up, i can make parts for hours at +-0.0005. That's good enough for what I am doing and in some cases over...

Re: Blower for The Demon V8

Well gentlemen, here's where I'm at on the little Chevy. The show is this weekend in Zanesville Ohio. If you can get there here is what you will see. I ran out of time and could not finish the rear...
  18. Re: questions about tools needed for I.C. engines?

Bob Shutt built a copy of my V8 with manual mill and lathe. Some of the parts were not as ornate as originally designed but it still looks real good.
  19. Re: questions about tools needed for I.C. engines?

You could pull off some single or 2 cylinder engines but for a 8 or 12 cylinder you are going to want that milling machine. Not that i cant be done, just would make it much more time consuming with...
