  1. Re: Simulation Pro - Setting up the Machine Definition

Thankyou for the great reply, always great info for somebody searching for information like I was then.

I got the collision detection working and lived with the non positioning vice. I made quite...

Re: Trick I figure out today!

Doesn't always work as a faster option than the planer option. It does give a constant cut though.

Re: Trick I figure out today!

I'd do that kind of shape using the equidistant command, should give a constant stepover regardless the angle of the wall. Just set it top to bottom and make sure the bottom of the job is the bottom...

    Tweaking NC after Post

    Hi,

I've got a minor niggle with my NC output. The machine is a Bridgeport 5 axis machine.

When I load a tool I have the postprocessor I move the table axis in to position in C and A. On some...

Well, more than 7 months on and I've finally got a 5 axis mill up and almost running ! We have a 5 axis Bridgeport with a 350mm dia integrated table.

I'm currently trying to figure out my post...

Re: Clearing Tool Libary of default Tools ?

    Cheers.

The oddest thing is with the tool library empty when I open the tool crib there is still nothing in the tool library.
I bit the bullet and re-entered the tools into the tool library at...

Re: Clearing Tool Libary of default Tools ?

    Hi Guys,

Another problem on the similar subject. I originally setup my new tool library and saved it away as a tool crib file. I've got all my tooling now and need to tweak overall lengths to...
  8. Re: I would like to get an honest opinion from an experienced CAD user about V27

Anybody else use bob for 5 axis machining ? Buying a Bridgeport 5AX 400 with a heindenhain 530 control.

Got a seat of 5 axis pro, but considering trying to get my boss to buy a touch probe upgrade...

Re: Clearing Tool Libary of default Tools ?

Well after a bit of time I've deleted them all.

I've attached the tool file zipped up for anybody in the future. It has no tools in it at all.

Re: Clearing Tool Libary of default Tools ?

    Cheers,

I'll save my self the mtool file once in an empty state too, then at least I can just overwrite the original file with the blank on in the future too.

Our IT people are a complete pain...

Clearing Tool Libary of default Tools ?

Is there an easy way of removing all the default tools from the tool library. I don't feel like manually deleting them all one at a time before importing the tools I have available (all metric).

  13. Re: I would like to get an honest opinion from an experienced CAD user about V27

I've been designing products in Solidedge for the last 11yrs and we bought a basic 3 axis machine about 18 months ago. I decided on Bobcad v26 (3 axis pro) from the demo program and the demos done by...
  14. Re: Simulation Pro - Setting up the Machine Definition

    Interesting read for sure.

I'm currently investigating purchasing a 5 axis Haas. We have Bobcad v28 in 3 axis pro at the minute, with the option to upgrade to 5 axis pro if my justification for...

    V27 Change Simulation Defaults ??

I use simulation a lot and to add to my tool setup sheets (start and end screen grab per setup) but the default is a gradient white to grey and switches on a load of stuff I don't want.

    When I...
  16. Re: First 3D Job - Looking for ideas on how to approach the CAM

Are the outer holes perpendicular to the side faces ? Shame they couldn't all be on the same plane, could be a 2 setup job.
  17. Re: Flipping a part to machine both sides...how to?

Plus being able to batch produce the setup sheets as a pdf file would be helpful too (doing this manually too !)
  18. Re: Flipping a part to machine both sides...how to?

It just feels seriously clunky having to suppress everything bar one setup and then post / generate setup sheet for every setup where an automated multiple individual post and setup sheet would be...
  19. Re: Flipping a part to machine both sides...how to?

Very true, but also for me I would like to see an automated simulation of each setup showing the datums position at the top of the setup sheet.

Where do you submit feature requests with bobcad ?

  20. Re: Flipping a part to machine both sides...how to?

We have been using v27 for about a year now and we machine detail in that can then be used as a datum. We will 2D mill the outside faces on the first setup and then use corners as the x,y,z datums on...
