Re: Small Desktop Router for Leather Molds

I think you need to factor in the thread pitch somewhere.200 steps per revolution is very common, but it would only give 200 steps/mm with a one mm thread pitch. The early posts showed a machine that I...

    Re: High School CNC Help!

No disrespect intended but I think you need to get yourself to a workshop that uses CNC routers for a day or two before making any decision.Doesn't matter what brand they run, just see what is...

    Re: Axyz 4008 2006

A couple of questions for the OP: does the machine have a vacuum pump and does the table have isolating valves for different zones?

The software you have is rock solid even if it is dated. If you...

    Re: Axyz 4008 2006

The AXYZ will be just fine with a .dxf if you use the Toolpath software that AXYZ would have supplied with the machine. You will need this in any event to transfer information created in any other CAM...

Wouldn't the answer be rather dependent on what uses you have for the next piece of software? What additional capability are you seeking?
  8. Re: Is the Taig Mini Mill a smart purchase for a beginner.

Some good advice in the previous post. The skills you acquire may be a useful and enjoyable thing for both your hobby or for your professional life.A slightly different consideration that I think you...

Re: Small Desktop Router for Leather Molds

The hold downs shouldn't be too hard to improve on.The cutting depth could be either a machine calibration error or an F-engrave input error. Some questions about F-engrave settings;in the V-carve...

Re: Small Desktop Router for Leather Molds

One other significant thing you need to do is to flip the graphic. What you have there will produce a mirror image of what you are after. There is a button for that within F-engrave.
  11. Re: Getting different results when changing the feed rate on my machine.

That looks like a fairly clear sign of a flexing machine. If a few bristles can cause a distortion you might want to look around the whole machine carefully.

Re: Top 11 CNC Routers 2020!?

If they earn enough commission from the sales they may be able to buy a dictionary. On one of the pages devoted to the letter B they will find the word "best" ;I recommend that they read what it says.
