    Re: Finally...Vertical Al T-Slot build

Update: I replaced the main shaft & pulleys in the reduction gear/carriage drive with keyed versions.
I'd run my first 'proper' job cutting 1200mm desk for the local school where my wife teaches....

    Re: Flood protection

I'm in NZ and saw that on the news - that looked proper mental! 800mm flooding is doable but fast flowing 4.5m is insanity!
I did see a containerized CNC router on a TV show (Grand Designs UK)....

Re: MACH 4 G1 CMD DOES NOT WORK

Yeah I hear they don't have good rep, but it works fine under MachGUI since I fixed the config files, plus, its got loads of IO's.
    I've do have a half-built ESS/HG08 as a backup.

Re: MACH 4 G1 CMD DOES NOT WORK

I used a copy of the wx4 screenset and the G94 wasn't in the initialization Codes. I've added it, and it works fine now without needing to included it in the gcode itself.

    The controller I'm...

Re: MACH 4 G1 CMD DOES NOT WORK

    Solved it!
Joe - I was looking at your 3rd line in the above code, the 'safe start line', and noticed it was different to the basic one I'd used (straight from themach4 manual).
    I looked up the...

Re: MACH 4 G1 CMD DOES NOT WORK

I know right? I'm very new to this and still in my builds commissioning stage, so I'm assuming I've cocked something up.
example of my test file (50mm square) below:

Re: MACH 4 G1 CMD DOES NOT WORK

Did you solve this? I've just encountered the same issue. It will happily run a test square on G0, but will stop on any G1 line

    Re: Finally...Vertical Al T-Slot build

    Update:

Replaced Y axis motor (vertical travel) with a braked nema34 to stop the z-axis & spindle assembly crashing to to the bottom when the e-stop is tripped.
Got sent wrong one, with a...

    Re: Finally...Vertical Al T-Slot build

Yeah, I was pretty unimpressed with it. It only ran a handful of times for test runs - no actual cutting.
Here's the link to the manual - and hopefully its attached to this post as well.

    Re: Finally...Vertical Al T-Slot build

So I spent all day working out the correct settings for the new inverter to run on the Chinese spindle. It would only turn over for less than 1 sec before giving a various over current errors. </br>...

    Re: Finally...Vertical Al T-Slot build

Update: drag chain swapped out for larger one, limit switch's on X wired in. Checked the spindle and found it wasn't earthed! fixed that and plumbed in water lines & pump.
