Try this method, Chuck up an end of your ball screw and drill a hole, say .375"ID. Make a stub shaft out of steel that will fit into the end of the ball screw...374ish"OD. Fit the two...

Just finished with this one in the CAD prog...You are correct the 40 won't work. The 30 will, but only 1.24682" of the taper would hold, the other .62818" would be swingn' in the breeze....

Has anybody ever attempted to take an existing MT3 spindle bore and rebore it into a CAT V30 or even CAT V40? If so what were your results?
