We are using SGI on our Pro 3 (18i) successfully.
Just acquired an older A77 with Pro3 (16M).
The M250, M251 (etc) codes are active, configured in the parameters and seem to run with cycle...
Ya typo.
Had the correct one.
Have 2 Mitsui Seiki mills, both with Fanuc11M controls and glass scales.
The one that has DC servo motors (yellow) I can get in and set the backlash (p#1581)
The one that has AC servo motors...
I need to adjust the pallet carrier positions (transfer and traverse) for each station.
I can get into maintenance mode but cannot figure out how to adjust the positions.
Have no book for...
Powering up the mill and initiate a tool change the tool carousel just rotates slowly till there is a timeout.
Is there a diagnostics parameter that monitors the encoder on the drum so that I can...
Yup Set to 0 is 19200.
For the record this is actually a M540 control but my other 520 also works at 19200
Software is (SDNC from Surfcam) successful on other machines including one with a M520...
I have the DATA IN and DATA OUT working just fine at 19200.
IN DNC mode, however, (using the same port and device as the other 2) I can't go above 9600. What could cause this difference? I'm not...
Have a communication question if either of you guys are game.
Noted.
There are parameters to force the axis for tool change but the only one turned on is Z.
Must be in a macro as you suggest. Will explore that.
Yup, checked for that and they are at 0 so not involved
Thanks camsys,
I think I found that... ironically yesterday.
On a Fanuc you can assign up to 10 M codes to access a macro.
Is there a similar parameter set for this control?
Have 3 machines. One with the spindle running if you push reset the spindle stops.
The other 2 the spindle stays running.
There a parameter to set that?
Have a 12,000 rpm spindle but don't see any reference to a spindle warmup procedure or program. Shouldn't that be the case?
Which parameter controls the position the X and Y axis moves to for a tool change?
late 90's machine. (99?)
Currently the tools always come from and arrive back to a dedicated pot in the magazine.
Were/are these machines capable of a random tool table?
It's odd that a...
I've rotated the cam, that trips the draw bar unclamp prox switch, as far as possible.
The maintenance timers 7010 and 7011 are set to zero (short as possible is the theory)
The draw bar...
Check out these guys
Did a board swap for mine at around $3400

If the zero speed signal is the problem I wonder if inputting a M63 "Ignore spindle rotation M code answer" would solve the problem?
Ok, without beating on it yes smaller, not small enough. Been there.
It's a six pallet pool. Prog#'s 1-6 assigned to the pallets. Enabling a pallet as "ready" automatically goes to the assigned...
Prog's smaller... can't.
I thought maybe Main with Sub from RS232, drip feed (probably to slow to be practical anyway) but running pallet changer which already has a main program assigned by...
Thanks ... I think?
My subprograms are too big for memory.
Can a sub program be "called" through the RS232 from a main program in memory?
If so how?
Rick
Can it be changed to display/accept more than a 4 digit number?
If so how?

What's the difference between a 5000L and a 5020L
I've looked all through the controller and manuals and can not find anything about one. Do these controls have one (if so where is it located) or is everything stored in non-volatile bubble memory?
Have an alarm code "065 alarm p svp start" after installing a LR15 with 5020.
Also at the bottom of the screen is "SBU monitor" showing and nothing on the controller works. I'm wondering if the...
We have that lathe with that control. Swap files no problem through the RS232
We use Sdnc for software but any communication program will do. Sdnc is bundled with Surfcam but it runs as a stand...
Also, do the cutting teeth have to be oriented in the holder in the M spindle?
