Hi Burrman
Sorry for the miscommunication ! I have a desktop computer that is small format that I was wondering about a video upgrade without breaking the bank?
...
The card that they were talking about in this thread was a full size pci express and my computer has the smaller size slot.
GD
Is there a small format pci video card that would be a good alternative ?

Hi Ross
Did you ever get this figured out ? I might be of some help. Gary at HPbyGD dot com

Hi Guys
I have been messing with a Raspberry Pi 2 and wondered if anyone has used one for wireless communication to a CNC machine ? It would be nice to not have to hock up the cable every...

Can you give some more info on your system ? I was wondering what other parts you needed to complete your system ? Do you have a blog in your build ?

The QUB stuff was by Dr Gordon Blair I think. The Engmod2t stuff I am just learning but there are some really smart guys that I know of that use it. It is a definite step up from the TSR stuff...
There is a great software simulation program called Engmod2t that is really good at predicting all you need.
Gary
Your Welcome. How about showing the results when you get it done ?
Gary :)
McMaster and Car has them in a lot of different dimensions.

If it is a small part you might be able to mount it in the spindle and clamp a tool on the table. I have done parts this way that are 2" in diameter.
Gary
An other option is to drill a hole that is 1/16" smaller than the cutter right where the cutter is going to plunge so that as it plunges into the material is cutting very little material.

I just had a thought while reading this post and thought that on the controller on my mill I can scale parts with a G72 in either axis I want. So how about making a circle with either a G2 or G3...
I have made parts from a wood mold. You have to make sure that you seal the wood well and use a good mold wax and a release. If you don't get it sealed well the resin soaks in before it harden and...
Is there a video of all the demos and classes that will be available for those of us that couldn't make it?

Actually I used the wrong term as I actually used a lap. I think that is what it is called. I turned a piece of tubing down to fit inside the bore and put some lapping compound on it . Then I just...
When I made mine I honed the tube bore to exact size. My reason for honing it was to get a better finish on the bore and thus more contact area on the tube when the pinch bolts where tightened .

If anyone has a digital copy of the manuals I would be interested in them also.
Thanks Gary :)
Hi Guys
I know that the Bandit is not the best by today's standards. This project is about trying to get my old brain to learn more about CNC electronics. The reason that I have these...
Hi Guys
I have an old Bandit controller that is left over from when I upgraded my mill. I have seen where some of the parts form the Bandit controller have been reused for an other project....
Vinamold is a great product ! I use it to take casting of ports in two stroke cylinders. They make a couple of different grades and I use the red stuff.

I recently upgraded to V 23 Bobcad and I am going through the learning process. The more parts that I draw the less time it is taking me. The version 23 was a major change so I had to learn Bobcad...
Hi Richard
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to see if Aaen still makes them.
Gary :)
One thing that I found when trying to make a round part is to bend the edges of the material so as it expands it is not trying to unfold the weld.
Gary
Hi Martin
Is there a chance to see a picture of that needle ?
Gary
Are you taking about trying to port a cylinder or just cut the ports in a liner? Cutting a liner is a pretty simple job with 4 axis. Porting a cylinder is going to be a lot toughter.

I want to make a adjustable jet for a carb that I use on my dyno. It would be a lot easier to get the jetting dialed in as I would not have to even stop running the engine to adjust the fuel...
I would be affraid to try an lean a mill over. I don't know how I would support it while I was moving it through the door. My mill is a Shizouka knee mill. It weighs about 6500 lbs I guess. I...
