  1. Re: Building Steel Frame Gantry Router for wood, MDF, and maybe more

I'm for Bolting, where ever it can be used, but it has it's place not everything can be bolted and make a sound joint, if you could hot rivet a frame together that would be something, but not very...
  2. Re: In need of information. Servo drives and motors.

If the Servo Drive is not able to be changed then No they will not run them unless Fuji has a software up grade you can use, try and see if you can find some matching Drives or Motors and sell which...
  3. Re: is it possible Clearpath servo's do not provide encoder feedback?

    "Good Value No"

    "Good for CNC No"

"Hobby level CNC ok but too expensive for what you are getting"

"Would I use them no, I have been to spoiled with real world Ac Servos / systems"

    There...

Re: Fuling DZB300 series VFD and Spindle

You have to have all the spindle Spec's to do the Parameters, I most likely have a Parameter list

    Spindle
    Max RPM=
    KW=
    Voltage=
    Amps=
  6. Re: Building Steel Frame Gantry Router for wood, MDF, and maybe more

Try some on a 75 x 75 x 4.5 steel Tube, like what he planed to use, I would not braze weld a machine like this, if you lay it out correct and stich weld in short sections you won't get any distortion...
  7. Re: Building Steel Frame Gantry Router for wood, MDF, and maybe more

Tig Brazing is very different than Gas Brazing the Tig Brazing still has distortion, the welded area needs to have as you can see, 3 to 4 times the weld bead ( = Distortion ) and still won't be as...
  8. Re: Diving Head First... Huanyang 220v VFD + Water Cooled Spindle Upgrade on my G540/

Yes that is a good switch for Cabinet supply On/Off this is not a circuit protection though which you should have where your fuses are ( 2 Pole Breaker 25A max 30A ) Power Filter 30A TDK RSEN-2030L
  9. Re: Diving Head First... Huanyang 220v VFD + Water Cooled Spindle Upgrade on my G540/

You should not use a Fuse in this case it wants to Be a 2 Pole Breaker then if there is a fault both lines supplying the VFD Drive will be cut at the same time
  10. Re: Diving Head First... Huanyang 220v VFD + Water Cooled Spindle Upgrade on my G540/

You only need a Neutral if you are using 120v which is always good to have which can be used where needed, so if 120v is needed anywhere then yes add the neutral

The main Breaker should not be the...

Re: Help whats wrong with my spindle?

If you where able to stall the servo's than that is considered a high load on the Bearings and is hard on the motor windings, it happens not quite as bad as a crash when they break the tool off at...
  14. Re: Diving Head First... Huanyang 220v VFD + Water Cooled Spindle Upgrade on my G540/

The only difference with your tests would be Parameter settings your Sako has the same PWM output as any other VFD Drive The Sako Drive is also quite inexpensive and can be brought for less than the...
  15. Re: Diving Head First... Huanyang 220v VFD + Water Cooled Spindle Upgrade on my G540/

Looks like you are on the right track if you are using 220v/240v then you need 2 fuses or a 2 pole Breaker which is better for the VFD Drive input power

Both of your plugs can be the locking type...
  16. Re: Incoming power voltage to my Haas causing power on issues

No you are over the 220v so I would not change it there must be something else that is causing the problem just a few volt drop like that is not going to effect the mill

    How old is the machine...
  17. Re: Chinese 2.2kw 24000rpm Spindle minimum RPM and aluminium mill

I looked through your posts, you have a water cooled spindle so the minimum speed is 6000 RPM=100Hz but for cutting aluminum you should not go below 7200 RPM=120Hz

    Yes you can damage your...

Grind or buy a carbide D-Bit it will hold a .005 point for spot drilling
  19. Re: double rack on single pinion to remove backlash?

Yes everything has it's limits, that part could be redesigned to suit what you need for the load and inertia of your gantry, the split Gear is easier to make
  20. Re: Building Steel Frame Gantry Router for wood, MDF, and maybe more

That polymer they use is expensive to do a machine like his you could have if machined for the around the same cost, there are others like this also that I have used, usually hand scraping or...
  21. Re: Building Steel Frame Gantry Router for wood, MDF, and maybe more

Your design is a known so the main base frame will be fine, allow for machining the top of the frame and add / weld bar to the top so you have enough for machining epoxy leveling your choice but may...
  22. Re: Help for the future, can I return to a better place.

That is where the education part comes in, if you are an old mature worker that has not kept up with technology then you are a lost case, and not employable, it's called the want to work, you can not...

Re: Help whats wrong with my spindle?

Meaning that it has been crashed in the past, sometimes it takes a while before the results of a crash show up, any crash will cause some Bearing damage and over time they will get worse, how old is...
  24. Re: double rack on single pinion to remove backlash?

Using 2 racks is not really the right way to approach your backlash problem

There are some setups already that have 2 pinions on the same rack to eliminate the backlash here is one that works...
