    Re: Switch to mach 4

I've never seen that in 10+ years of using Mach3, with the parallel port.
It's not the ESS itself, but rather the plugin, and it's interaction with Mach3.
  2. Re: Plug and Play 2.2kW Spindle --- Worth the upgrade?

At 45ipm, you should be spinning it at 8,000 rpm. The bits probably really dull from all the heat it's generating.

You should easily be able to cut at 200 ipm @ 1/4" DOC and 15,000-18,000 rpm with...

    Re: Switch to mach 4

That's probably an ESS issue, rather than Mach3.
  4. Re: Redid almost all electronics on 6040, except spindle/VFD, which isn't working now

Most people would wire X1 and COM to a relay, and have the AXBB switch the relay.
  5. Re: Redid almost all electronics on 6040, except spindle/VFD, which isn't working now

Do you have a relay to control the VFD's FWD or Run terminal?
The analog voltage doesn't start the spindle, it just controls the speed.
  6. Re: 6040 - How To Set UCCNC Spindle Parameters on 6040

You need to set the port and pin numbers for M3.

Re: Lack of Fineline response to its customers

Either that, or he received a large batch of very bad frames, and he couldn't recover from the losses.

    Re: mach3 misread

I would say that you are most certainly losing steps. Or you have a serious mechanical problem. You don't just lose 100mm.

I would set the steps/mm so that it's accurate at 2400mm. This should...

    Re: collets off from amazon

    No.
Precise Bits "ER Style" collets are not actual ER collets. ER20 collets will not fit.

Re: MACH3 Homing Y/A Slaved axis together

Most likely, the chinese controller doesn't support slaved homing.

    Re: Scaling problem

Sounds like you have an inch-mm conversion issue between Aspire and UGS.
  12. Re: Where To Buy UCCNC License? NOT www.CNCdrive.com

When I've purchased direct from CNC Drive, they send an invoice, and after you pay, the order goes through. I think it took maybe two days to get the license that came with my AXBB-E.

    Re: Why did this happen?

If the collet is damaged, it can put extra pressure right at the edge. This, combined with any run out or other shock to the bit, can cause breakage. There were likely a combination of factors that...

    Re: Why did this happen?

    What size was the bit?
If the bit breaks right at the collet, replace the collet.
I'd also lower the rpm when cutting at 150ipm.
  15. Re: CNC4PC slow customer service UCCNC license second time

I think it's faster if you buy the license with the board.

Re: Will Mach4 Work On This Chinese 6040

Yes, Mach4 will work with the UC100, but I'd just get UCCNC for less than 1/3 the price of Mach4.

    Re: Vibration at certain speeds

    I'd set it at 1600 or 2000, 3200 max.
What size are these motors (torque)? Are they the really big ones?

Re: Question about inner corners (CNC)

You can use a much smaller tool to clean up the corners, but they'll still have a small radius.
Or, you can use a chisel and square them by hand.

Re: GME's New 80/20 CNC Build - My Design

Other issues can be manufacturing tolerances with the racks.

    And how...
