  1. Clear plastic wipers under the way covers on a 3016. What material are they made of?

No amount of Googling has yielded any reference to the wipers underneath my 3016's way covers. They appear to be a second line of defense against chips that make their way past the way covers then...

Re: Drip feeding fadal : DNC or DNCX

After countless attempts to figure out why xmodem wasn't working on my 1993 3016 (1400-4 controller board), I used 8N1 instead of 7E1 and it worked the very first time I tried.

    Until trying 8N1, I...

Re: BallBar QC10 - looking for advise

    QAMTHE,

Your post is quite old, now. But, given this is the first time I've seen it, I'll give answering a shot.

I don't know what formats the QC10 saves the data it gathers in, but if it is...

    Re: New 2me 1987 VMC40 Axis Fault

This was the only thread I found with the error "amplifier fault on axis Z" that I was seeing on my 1993 Fadal 3016. But, my fix was different, so I thought I'd share.

    The z-axis was fine prior...

Re: System variable for the current tool length

    Update:

    Went back and tried it:

    G10 L1 P50 Z[#5403-0.5]
    T50 G43 H50 M6

Works perfectly! Thanks for the tip.

Re: System variable for the current tool length

Interesting. I tried using #5403 in my code and it was always zero. I must have some other bug.

I'm doing some mill turning. The idea is to keep looping through a subroutine (and making parts)...

System variable for the current tool length

I've seen a number of ways to set tool offsets (G10 L1 etc), but I haven't yet found a way to read the current tool length offset in gcode.

I'm looking for a variable like #5223 (the Z offset in...
  9. Re: Path Pilot v2.0 Network (Samba) Share Not Accessible

    That's no good.

The only other thing I can think of is to make sure the "Internet" button is clicked in the Status tab.
  10. Re: Path Pilot v2.0 Network (Samba) Share Not Accessible

Your screen shot is identical to what I see when I run smbstatus.

Once I saw there were no errors, I needed to hard-reboot my PathPilot machine before I was able to see the gcode share again.
  11. Re: Path Pilot v2.0 Network (Samba) Share Not Accessible

Run smbstatus to see if there are any problems:

    sudo service samba restart
    sudo smbstatus
  12. Re: Path Pilot v2.0 Network (Samba) Share Not Accessible

Interesting. The smb.conf.share should be owned by you, not sure why you're seeing a permissions error. Try:

    sudo nano smb.conf.share
  13. Path Pilot v2.0 Network (Samba) Share Not Accessible

After upgrading to PathPilot 2.0, I was no longer able to access my gcode folder over the network. The smb.conf settings Tormach uses are not compatible with Samba4 (it looks as though this new...

Well, that changes things. You don't have to check your computer's bios settings. Since the x-axis moved, we know your printer port is working.
