Hey Eric, that's how i set up my table with the long level but I never thought about using a strap to hold it together. I would tack it together and check square and level then cut it and try again....

Did you set up the offset in the MP1000 post?

If you have old tap files that have the correct offset and some new that have the wrong offset that could be the issue.

I'll check that too Lee but those have 2 bearings each and it hasn't seen enough use I wouldn't think to have wear yet.
