    Re: TX14207 SCHEMATIC

Not sure what you mean by jitter, I'm not very good in English...

Mine will find its position very accurately but will stop at a different position (reproducibly) depending on the direction from...

    Re: TX14207 SCHEMATIC

Yeah mine is running hot too but it's meant to be like that for holding torque. If you reduce that current you will end up with the axis skipping.

From my research, unless you can burn yourself on...

Re: 6040 router not cutting square!

If the axis is straight and the angle between the x and y axis is not 90 degrees you will get parallelograms. Parallelogram angle should not increase or decrease depending on its size.

    If the...

How many passes for accurate cut?

    Hello,

I think I'm missing something. I've been cutting MDF and abs with success but I have difficulty getting accurate cuts in only one pass. If I run my code three times I get somewhere close...

    Re: TX14207 SCHEMATIC

    Hi Norman,

I had to piece this guy appart a few months ago and wrote down the board schematics. I can send you what I have but it has not been curated at all.

I found your post trying to figure...

Re: 6040T Z axis moves in random directions

Great to hear that. Sorry for the silence, I've been traveling a lot lately.

If I understand correctly, the Z cable was faulty and replacing it solved the problem?

Sent from my Nexus 5X using...

Re: 6040T Z axis moves in random directions

Yeah... Good luck with that, I've been down that path and didn't find a system to identify connectors properly. Possibly it exists but no luck on my side.

Look at the JST catalog and check...

Re: 6040T Z axis moves in random directions

    Yes, I agree.

You switched the connector at the back of the machine, right?

Although if the direction is the only problem you have and distance is accurate I cannot really understand what is...

Re: 6040T Z axis moves in random directions

Yes, if the steppers are the same you should be able to see the problem reproduce on a different axis.

In case you would like to open it up...

In the controller you will find a parallel card,...

Re: 6040T Z axis moves in random directions

Could be worth a try to check another parallel cable otherwise you will have to open the controller I'm afraid... Really looks like the dir pin is not sending a clear signal.

    Another thing to...

Re: 6040T Z axis moves in random directions

Post information about your system. Type of controller, type of computer, mach3 motor settings.

Also did you try to increase the pulse width in the motor settings for the dir?

    One other thing...

Re: 6040T Z axis moves in random directions

I had to troubleshoot that exact problem. Ended up being the parallel port voltage. This should not be your problem since genuine uc100 seem to have 5V output.

Start jogging up and down and see...
  14. Re: Z Axis homing higher every iteration of a certain gcode

This issue was fixed by getting a 5V output PCI parallel card. Voltage of the onboard parallel card was 3.34V.

    See this post...
  15. Re: TX14175 input voltage from parallel port

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick update to say that using a 5V output parallel card fixed my issue. Ended up getting a Rosewill RC-302 from ebay and voltage was spot on to 5V.

    For those that might be...
  16. Re: TX14175 input voltage from parallel port

That's interesting. If I get that correctly, I could pull the line up to 5V without risks of damaging the 3.3V PCI card.

I'm not sure I understand the need of a 1K pull up resistance at both end...

  18. Re: TX14175 input voltage from parallel port

Got some more info, and more precise question,

the datasheet from the bus transceiver 74HC245 shows a minimum voltage of 3.15V when driven at 4.5V

    John-100 schematics of the TX14175...
  19. TX14175 input voltage from parallel port

    Hi,

I'm trying to find out if the TX14175 bob card is known to accept 3.3V input from the computer parallel port.

There's been great work done on that card by Kev2960, John Swift, and M_C but...
  20. Z Axis homing higher every iteration of a certain gcode

    Hello World,

I've purchased a CNC3040 with the 800W water cooled spindle (like this) and I think I have a little problem with it...

I see the machine coordinate zero in the z axis going up...
