    Re: Fanuc 6M-B, disabling a 4th axis

Unfortunately setting #307.6 = 1 doesn't seem to prevent 4th axis alarms from putting the machine into Not Ready state as soon as the control is enabled. Not sure if it just doesn't work as expected...

    Re: Fanuc 6M-B, disabling a 4th axis

There is a parameter #307.6; Disregard signal for fouth axis is effective = 1, Inefective = 0. But it seems to expect an input. There is no switch on the machine. No idea what will happen if I set it...

    Fanuc 6M-B, disabling a 4th axis

I have an old Matsuura machine with a 6M-B controller. For years now the Z-Axis VCU has a habit of blowing the main/alarm fuses on the same phase at unpredictable times and getting replacments is...
  4. Re: HAAS MDC-500 Z-Axis Servo Oscillation Issues (motor tuning)

Seems to have been solved by leaving gains alone but enabling LowPass+2X on parameter 29. Need to put covers back on and test to be sure.
  5. HAAS MDC-500 Z-Axis Servo Oscillation Issues (motor tuning)

Does anyone have experience tuning HAAS servos?

I have a 2007 HAAS machine here that's just had the Z-axis ballscrew and support bearings replaced. The locknut on the bearing block had come loose...

I'll take a look when I'm back on Monday.
  7. Re: Hitachi Seiki HC400 Parts - Advice on selling or trading

    Hey John,

They're Fanuc 11M's with a Seicos sub-system. They were both working until I put my hands on them, bit sad but we couldn't find a buyer.

  8. Hitachi Seiki HC400 Parts - Advice on selling or trading

We pulled a couple of these apart late last year to make room for new machinery after failing to find a buyer.

Structure, frames and panels went to the recyclers.

    Servos, ballscrews,...

Re: Generic parametrised cnc machine design

Compared to my existing machine yes. However, there are obvious drawbacks to rigidity with a modular design, depending on the quality of the coupling connections between modules.

Re: Generic parametrised cnc machine design

The prototype block was a little... bricky.

Re: Generic parametrised cnc machine design

This is what I've done on this project.

The idea was to develop an automated design for CNC machined CNC machine actuator, made from wood-composite panels.

    Generic parametrised cnc machine design

    Hi,

I thought I should post some progress on my new machine design/build to get some feedback before I move to the next phase.

My design is for a fully parametrised generic linear actuator that...
  13. Re: Finished 3-Axis CNC build, benchmarking advice?

    Hi A_Camera, awesome machine.

This is for a university engineering project, so I need to be able to back up my design choices with reference to published research. Those that I've found show that...
  14. Re: Finished 3-Axis CNC build, benchmarking advice?

Actually, now I'm confused by some testing results I'm getting.

I replaced the Chinese drivers and breakout board with a mesa 7i76 and geckodrives in anticipation of getting better performance out...
  15. Re: Finished 3-Axis CNC build, benchmarking advice?

    Thanks.

For the hybrid machine, I'd like to aim for a minimum feed rate of 40 mm/s, 2400 mm/min while 3D printing/digitising/laser cutting. This seems fairly achievable given the fact I can hit 30...
