Re: Where PSU Should be Located?

    Hi,

There have been times when ie used two 7.3A 48v supplies to give a total of 14A.
In some cases I’ve ran the X and Y axis of one, and the Z and A of the other. The other configuration is...

Re: Where PSU Should be Located?

    Hi,

It can be either. If the power supply needs cooling, then its placement may be decided on how to plan to cool it, etc.
this is one layout I used. ...

    Craig,
Hats off to you! Not many people understand the effort and persistence required to diagnose and solve such issues.
    Well done.

  8. Re: Why the range of speeds is not provided on stepper motor's product page?

Stepper motors are slow speed devices. This is due to the torque of the motor reducing with increasing speed. This occurs once the speed reaches around 400rpm. You can move this knee point to a...

Why is speed important to you?
    What speed are you after?

  10. Re: Why the range of speeds is not provided on stepper motor's product page?

Do you know what drive train you are planning to use, and what resolution you need?

If so you can calculate what speed you need. Chances are the stepper speed won’t be as issue.

    Your question...
  11. Who is using a ShuttleXpress as a CNC Pendant?

    Hi All,

I'm interested in finding out how many people are using the ShuttleXpress or ShuttleXpress Pro as their CNC Pendant as many of the CNC software controllers have drivers and plugins for...

The main reason was to attach an encoder to the stepper on a handle for manual adjustment.

Note that it should not be used as a drive shaft as the bearing at that ind is not up to it.

Re: UC100 and Spindle speed off

Ok. Do you know what frequency (step ) to voltage board you are using?

Also, most CNC frequency to voltage converters use a steps per setting of 20000.

Another thing to try is setting the step...

We need more information. What breakout board are you feeding the UC100 into? And, what PWM base frequency for the spindle speed signal does the breakout board require?

Yes, the first image was just prior to installation in the router and wiring up of the motors, spindle switches, etc.

The 2nd image was it installed and during setup.

  28. Mach2 "Start from here" not working (unregistered)

There is no such thing as “fully registered “, it’s ether registered with a license or it’s not.

It certainly works with a licensed version of Mach3
