Looks like some mechanical part inside the turret was broken.
The Baldor inverter is no more available?
It is better to use same old original Baldor inverter to get the best compatibility and best performance.
In the HPCC mode, the machine moved beyond the limit.

Due to compensation, point of intersection calculation, interpolation or similar reasons, a movement distance that exceeds the maximum...
Do you mean the ball nut and the ball screw are not matched well, and the ball nut is wobbling.
If so might need to replace the whole ball screw and the nut, can not replace the nut only.
Sounds like the servo motor has problem.
If you have a spare motor, you can replace it and see if the problem still there or not.
Better use original and ask them from the manufacturer.
You can download the manual of Fagor 8055i at below page for your reference.

We are using this one, so far so good.

It looks like the switch issue.
The switch is located on the front of the spindle. There is an access panel if you drop z axis all the way down.
It has 2 bolts on it.
Took that off and the...
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
I saw it wrong at first glance, I thought it was MasterCAM, not MetaCAM.
It is not suggested to run the servo motor at higher than its rated speed
The motor or even the driver could be over heat and burnt.
What is the CNC controller brand and model name on your Citizen L20 turning machine?
Looks like the the problem come from the speed sensor or the feedback cable.
You can find this AC servo driver user manual at below page for your reference.

Maybe you can send email or call the manufacturer of the machine.
They should have it.
Is there a label or name plate with detail model name and brand?
It looks like need to set the VFD's 10V voltage to match the maximum spindle speed of the controller, below is an example for your reference....
Para algunos controladores, es necesario cortar la alimentación y luego volver a encenderla.
Some motors need to do zeroing procedure after replacing a new encoder, don't if it is like your case, below is an example for your reference....
That type of the tool turret seems special, it rotates in horizontal, not vertical.
Maybe use a shaft coupling to connect?
Looks very nice!
Personally, I think the cimatron works pretty well, but since you're all set on replacing it, that means it's probably not a good fit for you.
Impressive, well done!
Thanks for sharing, that is very kind of you.
The turret motor could be broken, you can check the turret motor and its wiring.
Seems the spindle inverter has some problem, check if there is any alarm code on it, then refer to the inverter manual to check the reason.
You can use AC servo spindle motor and AC servo spindle driver to drive the head stock.
Keep in mind that if you remove the gears, then you will need a bigger torque motor than the original one....
Try to replace a new limit switch, if the new limit is working fine, then the old one should be broken.
