I've already had to replace the z axis now the x is making a lot of noise. Still maintaining .0002 or better but not looking forward to the $$ to replace.
Anybody else had problems?

I'm going to make some custom tool holders for my lathe. Any suggestions on the type of steel I should use?
Anybody know of one?
I just got this in an e-mail. Possible great deals for Fadal owners??
Huge $10 Million Liquidation of
115 Brand New FADAL VMC's
Plus $4 Million Parts Inventory Featuring: 70+ Brand New...
My machine seems to do both. Does anybody know the real differences or the pros and cons of either one vs. the other?
Does anybody have any experience with these? If so what did you think?
Any info on ballpark cost?

What did you change 183 to??
Thanks!
I've heard some horror stories about crashing Hass lathes. A new guy in my shop has crashed the hell out of our new Kia skt 15 and it has never even done more than dent the sheetmetal and break...
PBMW,
We have had some issues dealing with Selway over the years but the one good thing about Matsurra is that you won't have to deal with them after you buy the machine. We just got a new one...
A buddy of mine was in a battle with another manufacture with similar problems, machine wouldn't do what it said it would do. He got legal helpa and not only did they buy the machine back including...
I would check out Matsuura before you buy.
Have you checked to see if your material is round to begin with? A lot of extruded material is not round. You didn't say but is it any kind of tubing? A 3 jaw chuck can distort tubing like crazy...
I notice you are from Romania. How close is your Hass factory outlet or service center? We have three Hass mills and they work good but they need a lot of service. Just this year we have had a bad...
We have two of our three Hass mills down right now. They should be both up and running this week to the tune of $5k for the spindle drive on one and probabally less than $1k for a bad cable on the...
Sounds very dangerous. I've had one of our HAAS mills just start making it's own tool paths in the middle of a proven program but could not figure out what happened.
I would only buy the HAAS if you have service is close to you. We have three mills and they each break around 3-5 times a year. I've had my eye on the new Mori dura series.
Congrats! Your going to love the machine.
Has anybody been to West tech and Imts. I was woundering how the two different shows compare.
How are you holding the plate. Is it warped? Are you holding it the same way when you check it on the CMM? If your fixture is holding the plate in a restrained condition and you are measuring it...
Try turning down the pressure on the tail stock. Also measure the part over the entire part with the indicator. The part may be bowing with too much pressure. That would cause your chatter.
Try putting an indicator on the part when the center engages. It may be off center and moving the part off center when it engages.
Can the models from oneCnC be imported into Solid works?
There is one thing that is sort of tricky but not not really. When you are setting your work shift be sure you index the tool you are going to set the work shift with using MDI and not the turret...
We have Haas Mills and a Kia SKT21LMS. The Kia is a copy of a hitatachi seiki machine. Ours has been very reliable and rigid. The only problem we have had is the light went out and it took a...
