Yep....I am aware, but thanks for the tip....If there is any "good news" it is that I am NOT already familiar with Modbus, so learning the Huanyang rendition will not require me to "unlearn" anything...
Thanks Al.....
but a Mach3 plugin doesn't really help me with KMotionCNC....unless the Mach3 Plugin somehow works with KMotionCNC and I missed the memo....I was just hoping someone had already...
So my Medium Format Router project is nearing completion.....for testing I have been manually setting the Huanyang VFD using the control panel on the front of it, and this isn't horrible, but I would...
@bhurts
THANKS! That is exactly what I was hoping to hear:-) As I stated in my OP I am buying several of these for POS terminals in my retail business....I just thought it would make a perfect...
@aarggh....
First....Thanks for the response!
Second....
LMFAO! WOW, I ordered one of those a year or two back to "give it a try"....It was HORRIBLE! Two identical NEMA17's running...
I should start with the fact that I use K-Motion's K-Flops to supply the pulse trains to my drivers...for those not familiar with them, they are use a USB interface from a PC to a DSP based...
And...Tired of messing with it....Ordered a new K-Step and went ahead and ordered a dedicated K-Flop for this machine....Once you have used a machine that runs on a K-Flop you really don't want to...
Update....
I "cut" the trace on the back side of the PCB just after the "via" from the top side that connects to U17 Pin 29, but there is still not a "proper" pull-up on the other three A4989 Pin...
kure6592,
Maybe I am confused about what you need. K-Flop should connect via USB, are you not able to communicate with the K-Flop using K-Motion//K-MotionCNC with the K-Flop connected via USB? ...
kure6592,
If you downloaded the latest version of the software, the install includes all of the source code plus example programs in VB/VC/VCS.

OK, it would appear I have a SEMI-FUNCTIONAL 3-Axis Driver, LOL! I need a bit of information......
The Channel 1/2/3 are operating pretty much as they should EXCEPT instead of being in...
Hey Tom,
Thanks for the quick reply! So I will remove the 4 mosfets in question and give it a try, lol. I either have a functional 3 channel driver or a conversation piece destined for the...
Just for grins and giggles here's a picture of U17:

Hey Tom,
Like Forest Gump's mother said..."Stupid is as stupid does"....So here is where I am:
I am working on a new build....I have X-Y-Z Installed and ready to test....Or so I thought...got...
@Gunni,
I would NOT use polyester resin for leveling....polyester resin is very weak/brittle w/o filler, that is the reason people use epoxy or urethane. There are several products designed...
A little bit more information would be helpful, but ASSUMING you have steppers driving your XY axis, it MIGHT be that you, your interface or your controller are attempting to drive them too fast. ...
@tjb1
You and I obviously have very different ideas about how sales and customer service should be handled. I am very glad you have had a good experience with Open Builds, and I hope that you will...
And this pretty much wraps up this thread.....this was my last email to OpenBuilds.com (mark carew) , and @ this point I guess I am NOT going to have a "Spring 2014" project :-( (ok, bit bitter...
tjb1,
YES, It appears I have made this REALLY DIFFICULT. Obviously I AM AN IDIOT. I went about buying completely wrong. My bad. Don't worry, it still isn't working out:-)
YES, I SHOULD HAVE...
WOW :-( So in theory I have ordered a bunch of Open Build's stuff and am here to report on my initial thoughts, in REALITY things are not moving that quickly. It would appear actually BUYING...
Unes,
Yes, reading a lot is a cheap and GREAT place to start. Please understand, I was NOT saying you couldn't build from salvage; I DID say drawer slides were NOT a good choice. If time is NOT...
One of my BIGGEST problems is that when I get an idea in my head I let it "percolate" for quite some time before I "act" on it. Take for instance Servo motors (BLDC, AC, DC). When I began thinking...
Hey Unes....Welcome to CNCZone :-)
Honestly it sounds like you need to spend some time thinking about what you actually want to build. Drawer slides really aren't a great starting place for...
Sooooo, the encoders came in....I think they are going to work :-) Following are a couple of scope shots from One encoder just stuck in a drill to get a look @ the signal. The first is ~214Hz...
Soooo, I am back from "my trip" and I have spent some time thinking on the Open Build's V-Rail system and I am doing my best to get started down the path....First little "bump" (and this is really...
And then there is ME, living in the South, who has spent his entire life trying to keep his electronics cool, without ever a thought to keeping them "warm and cozy", hehe. Honestly, other than the...
Gerry,
Yes, perhaps belt reduction, perhaps gear reduction. Likely ~ 4:1 to move the RPM range down to ~1000-2000 rpm and increase the torque.
Al,
Thanks! So -10V = Full Current CCW // ...
Wizzard,
THANKS for all of the feedback! Just to be clear, the machine I am thinking about would NOT be 4x8, but rather ~52" x ~30". The cutting of a 4x8 sheet would be accomplished by sliding...
