    Re: Timing/Belt pulleys...source?

B&B gets/got the first order. Ametric's catalog wasn't working for on this machine, so they got canned for the sale.
I'm working on gearing next, 20deg PA and 16 DP just don't come from MalWart...

    Timing/Belt pulleys...source?

Needing a 10-15mm wide belt, center to center distance of 92-100MM (I can shim to get over 92MM) and a pulley ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 to drive my Z axis. Drive shaft is 8mm and the screw shaft is 10mm....
  3. Re: Vertical/Semi-vertical tables...anyone? My thoughts...

X and Z are getting there. 1500mm rails slide nicely along the 8 bearings on the carriage. I can 'ride' it with my feet on it, and it feels pretty smooth with another 165# on it. It'll be much nicer...

Kubota BX22...nothing fancy. Brought it down last fall to replace the 3pt piston rings. Just finally got around to taking it back up.
  5. Re: Vertical/Semi-vertical tables...anyone? My thoughts...

Everything is running again!!! Board is in, working fine. No more smoke...yet.

Got the X and Z carriage done. 8 bearings on the X, 4 vertical and 4 horizontal. Hopefully....hopefully....the...

    Re: New Herme/Gravograph IS400TM

If it's like my IS700, far left top is where the switches are for the axis home. X0-Y0. Origin on mine is where I decide to set it in the G-code.

Fortunately for me, those 2 switches are the only...

Gotcha. Will see how this one works and make a decision off that.
    Thanks for the info.
  8. Re: Vertical/Semi-vertical tables...anyone? My thoughts...

How as in motor or type of transmission rack gears? There are 3ea 72" 16pitch racks in the shop to be welded/mounted to the frame.

I'd read something about the 1600oz 34's...how true is that? 60V...
  9. Vertical/Semi-vertical tables...anyone? My thoughts...

In the process of building a 10'x5' table. Gee...glad no one here has ever thought of building their own tables, huh?!:o

    But....

Looking to build it at about a 60-65 degree angle. Why...
  10. Re: So...who's got an extra can of chip smoke?

Scary part, is it was still controlling a few items after it smoked. I could still toggle the spindle on/off and move 1 of the 3 axis. Pretty solid board in that regard.
  11. Re: So...who's got an extra can of chip smoke?

Took out a few traces under the terminal strips.
Probably solder in a few wires and it'd be like new...
    $20 anyone? :-)

  12. Re: So...who's got an extra can of chip smoke?

    It's what I started out with. :p
Just built the rest of the box around it.
There's room right up next to the VFD for the 'real' one.
(tax return is here Wednesday, not sure which direction the MC...
  13. So...who's got an extra can of chip smoke?

Let the smoke out of the cheapie 5 axis board. Who's got a can of replacement smoke near me?

Somehow I forgot I made the Z-- limit connector in my cabinet have something to do with 110V and a...

Re: Mach3 unexpected plunge after tool change

Look for and remove the G43 (length offset) if you don't need it. Check the 'next' Z line after the tool change, make sure it's not changing with regards to the actual tool length and Z clearance....

    Any new news on this?
Pretty much what I'm seeing tonight in the shop.
I lost about 4" in my X. Luckily it was practicing on plastic and not aluminum or I'd have lost another bit.
    Machine is only...

It didn't ship with the rest of the box. I called, they emailed it and the post processor file as well. Fast service seems to be what they do best! Now if I could just figure out what files to save...

All together, software loaded....IronCAD is asking for a license number. I have looked through everything...I cannot find the number. I stuck in the USB doodad for the STRUTCam, still asks for a...

No idea. I didn't get an EP or control module. That's why I had to wire up a different controller.

Off the top of my head, i'd think the EP is just a controller for steppers, and sending the...

    IS700 New Hermes wiring

    Got everything figured out....mostly.
Small gauge green and yellow wires on the 36pin connection....they go to the speed control board up front, and to the EP module on the other.
    I think it's pins...
