    Re: Tool Path Starting Point

    Mauri,

    Thank you!!!

I had not noticed that selection in the Stock and Regions menu.

    Tool Path Starting Point

Several years back, I noticed a thread that suggested the idea of being able to select a point where madCAM would begin a toolpath operation.

Was this ever implemented or is there another way to...

    Sharp 1640L Lathe Spindle Problem

A friend has a 1640L with a CamLock system that holds the spindle to the head. He started to simply face a small bar and the entire spindle came off and fell.

    Re: Finishing Pass Problem:

    Hi John,

I actually loosened the tool tolerance and it smoothed out 99% of the z variation. Turning on control points in Rhino helped visualize this greatly. Sky Greenwald had a helpful article...
  6. Re: Difference between "Rapid Approach" vs "Approach" points in a Post Processor

The underlying reason behind the question was that on the MC post processing page there was a Home Position that I was trying to figure out its functionality. My system defaulted to 0.25", but I...

    Re: madCAM Toolbar missing

Tried that on my old copy of Rhino5 ... but still just had the Smileyface in the toolbar.

I have since upgraded to R6 and installed MC there and got back working again.

    Appreciate the help!

    Svenakela,

I appreciate the reply. Let me see if I have this straight by a practical example from a code snippet:

  14. Re: Mitsubishi EDM Taper Cutting Problem (Buttress Thread Tool)

As a test, I loaded our Mits with the G-code you made from my threading tool model with MasterCAM. The geometry displayed perfectly on the screen and the part cut precisely ... first time!

    Tasdau,

Absolute U/V was not set on the machine. Have it set now. All the FeatureCAM posts were using G90s (Absolute). (I couldn't find any into in FCAM help that state U/V parameters are...
  16. Re: Mitsubishi EDM Taper Cutting Problem (Buttress Thread Tool)

    Tasdau,

Well, that is a BIG help after looking at your code. All your assumptions are good, except the last one I don't know about:
"You have 'Absolute UV' active in the switch screen (for the 4...
  17. Re: Mitsubishi EDM Taper Cutting Problem (Buttress Thread Tool)

Very interesting! Those items would be killer. It logically makes sense since they lie in my red flag zone between the correct looking sim in FeatureCAM and the Mitsubishi Controller...

    Bostosh,

Very nice product work there! You clearly have put in some time to get this point. Kudos!
