I've been given the opportunity to upgrade our first CNC router and this time around the budget is much higher. I'm interested in all the belles and whistles, service, and of course reliability. So,...
Whenever I make a rapid Z moves, my CNC (NewCNC SMART ER II) pauses for ~2 seconds. Here's a sample drilling operation:

Our machine has an OSAI controller and I'm looking for CAM software to make C-axis easy for cutting foams, corrugated, etc with reciprocating knives. Any recommendations?
I've been spoiled by the ProtoTrak SMX system's on board milling events and DXF conversion and will be receiving a CNC router without either. I need help choosing a CAM software for it.

Our Trak DPM SX2P took a tumble and is now laying on its side in a pool of its own oil, so we're in the market for a replacement.
The Trak used to do all of our operations, but we recently...

We've gotten pretty good at milling HDPE on...

We don't know anything about the CNC router world, so I've come to you guys for help.
We need a CNC router with a 4'x'8' or larger table with a multi tool to change from milling to drilling...
