Mach3 is now installed. Not getting a limit switch condition as before but the E stop switch still does not work. Motors are singing but no motion. PMDX-122 and Gecko drives seem to be working...
I keep getting a 'limit switch triggered' on the status readout and the emergency LED flashes on the diagnostics page with Mach2. All limit switches are OK. The Emergency switch is functional but...
Has anyone had trouble downloading ST6? I can download the other files on the page but my browser locks up when I click on the English link. Thanks for any helpful clues.
Try Bruce Harvie at http://www.rockisland.com/~tonewoods/Home.html.
Also, have you tried contacting a dulcimer maker? These people may be able to help.

Another alternate wood is cedar. Years ago I did some repair work on a hammered dulcimer that was built by the customer. She used clear quartersawn cedar clapboards. It's not a typical tonewood...
I can vouch for the PMDX 121, which incidentally is upgraded to the 122 now. Been using it with Mach3 for over a year and have not had any problems at all. Easy to install too.
Does anyone know the screw size of the tapped holes on the PSU chassis? They don't seem to be the Unified type.
The piezo element in a musical instrument pickup is quite sensitive, especially the 'ribbon' type which I believe is actually a polymer film of some sort.

Les,
Thanks for the reply, I discovered it this morning. When setting the units to inches in the setup wizard, I assumed it would automatically set the drawing units accordingly.

Opening saved jobs are working OK but when a new drawing is opened, it's rendered way too small to be processed.
JMValios,
Very nice, simple design indeed! And also an informative presentation. Where did you get the limit switches?

I'll do that. Thanks again for the help.
I'm not sure how to test the pins...as in a voltage reading? I've never tried that and wouldn't know what to do or look for. I did use the hardware wizard to reinstall the driver and that didn't...
Ger21,
I tried your suggestion and it's still the same. I also tried a new computer with an XP OS and got the same results. Mach3 however, will show a numeric change in the DRO but the motors do...
Ger21,
Yes, the motors are operating great. In fact, everything works fine except for cursor control of the motors. I can run the machine in program mode, with the screen joystick, or MDI. ...
All the DRO displays work. Also, the mouse and joystick screen, and MDI will move the axes. Everything else works fine, it's only the manual hot keys that do nothing.
The assignments are correct and reassigning them didn't work. Is there a troubleshooting wizard that will diagnose the problem?
As of yesterday the cursor keys and Pagegup and Pagedown have no manual control over any axis movement. All the settings seem to be the same and the latest version of Mach2 has just been installed...
Yorttroy,
Moving the bobbin is an interesting solution but could it be the change in inertia that's causing the build-up on the ends? Perhaps there's an algorhythm to adjust for that. ...
I don't know if sliding door wheels will have the close tolerances needed for a wire guide. Those would be easy enough to make with delrin.

There seem to be only a few apps that save, export or convert to HPGL format. How about accepting more art formats such as Corel CDR, BMP, etc?
yorttroy,
Yes, as I understand it, laying the wraps down evenly as opposed to scatter winding changes the capacitance of the coil which results in a change in the tonal characteristics of the...
