Has anybody tried using a Masso with just a plain old ordinary on/off spindle relay?
I found out too late that it's a REAL ISSUE on the Masso. No where in their advertizing does it tell you it...
Hi All. Been away for way to long. As I said in an earlier post, aluminum rails don't last and actually steel angle iron rails aren't that much better. Finally went to the ground "V" rails. the axis'...

I got a HF thermometer and found out my drives after 2 ½ hrs of running were about 85deg. Good! Then the gremlins showed up and blew the motherboard in the ‘puter in the middle of a cycle....
Louie, Gerry,
Thanks for the input. This points me in the right direction. As I run her today I'll keep and eye on the drive temp for starters. I did notice my "X" motor is barely warm to the...
Right now I'm running a 1/2"-10 2 start. This is 5TPI. Right? So if I lower the TPI it should lower the number of pulses per revolution, but won't it require more "work" (higher current draw) to move...
Another thing you can do to speed things up is set your Windows theme to "Windows classic" That new translucent style in "7" eats up a lot of horsepower. I got his right from Esprit tech support.

' been away from the ZONE for quite awhile. I retired in March this year...and that's when it started. I always logged on at work, the 'puter remembered my password for me. Guess who forgot his...
Is your Z motor getting to hot? I'm having the same problem with mine. After I let the machine cool down for about a half an hour it 'll be OK...but trying to get 2 hours of continuous production and...
. . .been beating on this for awhile. I enlisted help from a friend here at work. Denny spent a lot of lunch hours tracing and track the pulses. A scope showed that the pulses were at about 6 volts....
Yes they do lock up. One thing I did notice is sometimes when I power up I'll hear the bump as they lock up and sometimes I don't. But they still are locked at idle.
Oh and yes I did check to make...
Is anyone running the KL4030 drivers with a C11 breakout board? My machine has been dead for about three weeks now, and I can't seem to find where the problem is. At first I thought it was the...

Hi All. I've been away from the project for awhile, but I am getting closer. I finally got it off the workbench and onto it's own stand. It's amazing how heavy something can get as you keep adding...
Our IT guy told me that CT Xpert can't be supported...it's a Windoze 7 vs 8 bit DOS problem. Your only solution is to run XP in virtual mode with E2011 installed. The one thing I did figure out is...

Been away from the project for awhile...had to get the new plane ready for the Memorial Day flying session. I hope everyone had a good safe weekend!

I knew I had a couple of pix of the Z in process. It's tough when things are going good I forget to grab the camara.
Found a few more pix in the camara.
Everybody posts the GOOD pictures...I figured why not post a screw up?
Notice that it doesn't look anything like the AutoBAG drawing.
I'm hoping when I get...
I've been busy. Finally got the Y and the Z rolling nice. I only had to do the Z twice. Getting the right shims made in order to use that 1/2" bearing was a real pain in the neck. I did flush the...
Harold, thanks for the link about the bearing. You can't see it very well but I have a bearing on the inside of the gantry as well as the outside. I hope it's enough support...I might have to add one...
FINALLY!!!!! had to upload them one at a time.
I guess this 'puter is gonna bust my chops tonight. Here's a few more!
' been busy...got a little more done. Question for the group. Seeing that my gantry is totally enclosed, should I provide ventilation holes? How hot do these motors get? I got the whole packedge from...
Back again! I had to break off for a small "Honey Do" project...no way was I goingto spend almost $400 for bases for a washer and dryer. Anyway I had a heck of time with the "X" rails. It took me two...

CNCZONE created the thumbnails...
