I'm glad that I could help.
I really like the fadals and I think the DC machines runs smoother than the later AC drives.
I switch between 3 different A axis drives and reballancing the amp is...
Do a Google search for "fadal axis ballance program "
I found a pdf that has the factory service programs. You'll have to scroll through to find the one you need.

I've used these guys recently as a month ago for a spindle encoder.
If the problem followed the amp to the y axis then I would change the amp.
I can't say for certain if the amps are the same between the X and A, the motors are different though.
Under the cap on the servo motors is an encoder/resolver which are the same on DC drives.

I just looked in my 6030 and the A axis amp looks physically different but are wired the same.
I take it that you are wanting to use the A axis amp so you can run the machine without using the...
We would normally switch x with y.
Do you know if the machine has AC or DC drives?
The ballance should be close enough to start the machine but will need to be fine tuned for accuracy.
Is this fixed yet?
I agree that switching amps could isolate and help find the problem.
You can switch the x and y motors the same way to see if the problem follows the part.
It might be a...
There are adjustment pots inside the pendant for brightness, screen size, contrast......
I expect one of those are dirty or moving from machine vibrations.
You guys must be lathe operators :)
I work in a job shop where the tools change often.

I might start by plugging the coolant pump into the coolant 2 outlet to see if the problem follows. You will have to program m7 to turn it on.
Shimming the spindle is not hard.
Before loosening fasteners clean the area around the mount area well.
If I can get within .0002 on 10 dia circle the blend will perfect on a 4 in cutter.

Did you level the table or the y-axis ways?
A few year ago one of my machines was having the same problem. .010 drop in the y axis.
First make sure all of the oilers are working. remove the way...

Which menu is not showing up?

Make sure the machine is home before going into the parameters.
