Re: Vetric Aspire nose dive on Z Axis

Said Ger21 The noise your hearing is the motors stalling, or losing position. Once again its the machine, not the gcode. If the motors are stalling or missing steps your running program is going to...

Re: Vetric Aspire nose dive on Z Axis

He has been told this over and over, Aspire creates the gcode the controller (computer) and the machine runs it. Very basic stuff.
  4. Re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

So are the rails and blocks sold as matched sets or can you buy the bearing blocks sold separate?

    Re: Spindle heats up

You have to set up the VFD for your spindle, would running it at 10 amp vs 5 on nameplate be a problem, yes. My guess you have already overheated the windings and its next stop could be the dump....
  7. Re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

And except for one or two persons comments to the contrary, this is something I would not loose sleep over Gary, its going to work and be just fine. If its not binding the chances of you and I...
  8. Re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

Re: Vetric Aspire nose dive on Z Axis

On the one I can recall who thought it was software related, it turned out the gcode file created had so many tiny little movements his machine could not keep up and started losing a step here and...

    Re: UCCNC and Linux

Interesting but I have been building and using my own tower / desktop computers since 1982 or so and MS-DOS. I don't allow or do hacks to my OS from any source.
  11. Re: Timing pulley slipping on gearbox shaft

If you have a gap to fill as a worn shaft you might look at the Green Loctite, read the spec's before deciding.
  12. re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

But if its not binding and cutting square is it still wearing? Everything wears, its part of the cost of using a machine. I doubt a hobby user would wear one out if its not binding, and if its...
  13. re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

Gary I think 80/20 offers a machining option would that be an good option for a DIY builder?
  14. re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

So what your saying Gary if the Linear rail system is binding up your machine then it needs to be redone. That seems to be the issue with a number of the FLA machines. I got lucky on mine I guess. ...
  15. re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

I am going to try to upload the PDF manual for the rails and blocks Gerry mentioned. I do not see anything saying the "world will end" if the tolerance is not +/- .0005? Dan it sounds like you've...
  16. re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

I think almost everyone understands that Gerry, thanks for clarifying.
  17. re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

  18. Re: Lost drill hole size accuracy in drilling operations

Correct and its only 6mm hole size and he has done it for months without issues! This is a production line thing, not one off. Something has changed.
  19. re: Fineline Shutdown or Perpetrating a Fraud!!

In your haste to "be right" you must of missed the " ground flat" in my reply.

Please show us the pictures of the machines your making, selling and exporting so we know how to do it right.

    Re: Buying first metal lathe

I purchased a 7x14 LMS and it works fine but many, many times I wished that I would have got the one with the 7/8 or 1 inch bore. If its backordered... get on the List.
