Kerf width on Multicam 1000 Plasma

Does anyone know how to set the kerf width so it is loaded with the material library?

I can see a parameter in the material library editor called g_diameter which seems to marry up with the kerf...

Dore Electrics was the other mob I couldn't remember the name of.
  3. Re: Mixed bag of CNC machines in a recent machinery purchase

I actually watched that video after asking the question!

BTW, not sure what you pay for you electrical gear, but I recommend tro-pacific. There is another mob I used to buy din rail connectors...
  4. Re: Mixed bag of CNC machines in a recent machinery purchase

Yup, its all there. The little black thing between the toroid and capacitor is a full wave rectifier. Up the top is 24V psu as well.

How do I know what THC i need?
  5. Re: Mixed bag of CNC machines in a recent machinery purchase

I'll probably spawn this off into seperate build threads once I get the machines.

The stepper drivers for the Plasma CNC are Pacific Scientific 6410's....
  6. Re: Mixed bag of CNC machines in a recent machinery purchase

Thanks Rod. I am gong to sell the multicam AU machine as soon as I can, so I will probably leave that one alone if it works, but the other 2 I am pretty keen to run up on LinuxCNC. I want to start...
  7. Re: Mixed bag of CNC machines in a recent machinery purchase

Went and measured up the machines and took a few pics today.

The Multicam AU machine is 1200*3000. I think this is the only one that will probably work out of the box. I will have to try and track...
  8. Re: Mixed bag of CNC machines in a recent machinery purchase

I have been reading your posts Rod, and they are a big part of my decision to use Linux CNC at this point. Will be my first transition from Mach to Linux CNC, so no doubt a bit of a learning curve.
  9. Mixed bag of CNC machines in a recent machinery purchase

Bought a bunch on machinery recently, and included were 3 CNC machines.

    1. Matcam (Multicam US) CNC router 1500 x 3000 with I think an 8 position tool changer and massive vacuum pump.
    2. Matcam...

Re: HAFCO HM-47 (RF-47) CNC Conversion

    You are both wrong.

cncmakers001 hit the nail on the head. Even though we are way, WAY under the price that Farmer is talking about, money is not everything.

BTW, its not using the original lead screws.

This machine has come in at well under 8K. Our investment so fare is probably half that. Given my old man is an old retired mech engineer, and I am...

Yeah, all the engineering has been done. Just waiting on me to finish up the electronics side.

    Just need some spare time.
  13. Re: Hafco (RF-47) CNC mill and lathe conversions - finished

Just out of interest, what settings did you use for the dyn2 drivers. I managed to get the mill moving the correct amount but clearly I need to do some tuning of the parameters.

    Also, not sure if...

I can now give info on the cnc technics break out board - that is, don't buy it. The board might be ok, but the documentation is atrocious. Unless they fix that up, steer clear.
