Can't see how to post files here?
I've asked the same Qu at Grabcad, files are available there : https://grabcad.com/questions/how-to-mate-a-rectangle-to-a-cylinder
I'm trying to mate 2 parts together simply because I cannot work out how to make this as one part.
It's basically a rectangular part that needs to mate to a cylinder but I need to do it in a way...
6/7K euro?
Is this a typo?
If MDI input is accurate then it's probably something in your CNC input code. Post a .tap file which is overcutting.
Cheers Neil.
The parallel cable had chaffed where I routed it behind a cabinet.
It helps to look at the obvious before deciding it's the worse case scenario.
Switched her on this morning & can't get any CNC or jog control from Mach3.
The SX3 powers up with it's usual 'thunk', I can speed up the spindle. The X & Y limit switches are registering in Mach3...
I had this particularly bad on my forearm a few years ago, my sleeve got soaked while running a small batch off on a lathe. The Doctor called it 'contact dermatitis' & it cleared up rapidly with the...

If Martyn's up for it, I'd very much like to see one in the flesh.
Can you give us a rough figure on what you spent getting it over here? Not the physical machine itself, but the...
Wow ! 5 1/2 yrs ago & I still haven't got my hands on one :-(
This year is looking good tho', I need to insulate & heat the workshop & save another £3k'ish to reach my target.
What part of UK...
I have a sneaky suspicion that one or two on here are using their hobby machines to make £cash !
I bought my SX3 specifically for that reason, I had lots of spare time & decided to put it to good...
Job done successfully
Made a male + female former for the vice & it bent a continuous curve beautifully without too much pressure.
Tried it by just bending a sharper angle in the...
For line engraving I use a Taegutec 1mm carbide ball end running at 3500rpm, F30 plunge & F60 run in ally. 2x passes to engrave 1mm deep then fill with paint.
V bits aren't much use to you, they...
I need to put a slight 10deg bend into Alu plates that are roughly 100mm X 50mm X 6mm thick without damaging the plates too much.
Will this sort of Heath Robinson device using a bottle jack be OK...
Aargh !
I've gone thru 3 sets of cheap, cast monkey metal nutcrackers this season already & I still have about 2 lb's of the damn things still left to crack.
I have a small CNC mill capability...
It costs me a minimum of £60 to get my local shop to anodise a batch (inc's approx 40 parts) but my workflow often dictates that I have at most 8 parts per week to process. I give up my Sunday...
I use lead, rolls of lead used for roofing are easy to come by in the UK.
It's easy to get carried away & start building something which is close to a pro set up, I like to keep it simple &...
Hi Diabolical.
Using Caswell's LCD system I've been succesfully anodising parts in my home workshop with repeatable results for the past 3yrs.
I have the exact same power supply & it should be...
I knew absolutely nothing & sought out a lot of advice before buying my lathe. Of the 5 pro engineers I talked with ALL advised me to lose my long hair.
It had grown to about the middle of my back...
I hope that the PDF file contains all the info required, if not please feel free to PM me.
Please, UK only, I don't have any energy left to learn Chinglish, nor do I have the cure for cabin fever !
This might explain it better.
I'm trying to radius the plate around the holes by drawing larger circles around those holes. I then need to draw arcs & straight lines from these circles to form the...
I need to make a plate that will blank off a hole left after modifying a machine at work.
The attached PDF shows my attempts so far, it's a simple 12mm (1/2") thick plate & only the holes internal...
Sorry, my mistake.
The latest news section on www.syil.ca doesn't actually mention that they're the 'SOLE' distributer in the US.
"Syil Canada Is now "SYIL NORTH AMERICA" and will be providing...
AIUI the Canadian took over the US distribution of Syil products some time ago.
He does seem enthusiastic, knowledgeable & willing to back the product to a level which should be putting most of...

I'm trying to source a supply of the plastic chrome inserts that press into &
blank off the top of an Allen head socket.
I can find them from motorcycle parts & accessory retailers but they...
£9k is a LOT of money, I put £3.5k into an X3 becauses in the worst case scenario writing off £3.5k is painfull but not necessarily fatal.
I would NOT risk £9k on a machine that is unproven, I...
I have a 3-4yr old SX3 with 1000hrs+ of machining time & have absolutely NO issues whatsoever with Syil UK.
Mr. Hugh / HarryUK / Amadeal or whatever he wants to be known as these days will not let...

I really am a numpty when it comes to lektronix :)
Is Board 1.jpg what I'm plugging into?
If so, then I've modified a connector to fit Plug 2.jpg
