Not sure if this is splitting hair but I am curious what the temperature affect is on a Sherline, or if there is a limitation. My workshop will be in my garage and I am expecting temperature range...
Thanks Fixittt, that was very useful info. You are correct, Iwill not be picking up the job. Only thing worse than losing opportunity is getting one and screwing it up pretty badly.
Yes, I definitely appreciate hearing wealth of advice from experienced folks regarding a sherline. This website is truly amazing and I get resorces and information I cannot get anywhere else!
At...
There are about 15qty being talked about, but 6" piece was the worst case piece. Others range from 1x1x1 to 4x4x4 cubes. Even if can do all but the 6" dp part, it would be worth it. I would think...
[QUOTE=HimyKabibble;868545]I have a hard time imagining a small, lightweight machine like a Sherline or Taig being able to machine such a large piece, and remove so much material, in a reasonable...
They have about 15 of these boxes of various sizes. I just picked the 6" one because that is the toughest box they have. What do you think is the depth limit on a Sherline? I definitely don't want...
They want it 6061-T6, not really bend friendly. Can't weld either due to .003form and profile tolerance (inside and outside box). It also needs to hold liquid.
I personally think the Sherline has much better design than the taig, seems like a real team of engineers&techs put that together. Can you tell me more about the "constat tweak" needed for such...
Is there anybody that have run cmm, faro, or laser scan to verify the inspection data on sherline made parts?
I am planning on making money by converting a small sheetmetal box (less than 6l"x6w"x6h") out 6061-t6 aluminum. So just imagine a 6"x6"x"6 cube with .25"radius on all edges and shelled out one side...
JOB IS COMPLETE.
Thanks everyone.
Do you need more information for the quote? All materials are 1010, 1020, or other ms, and I do realize the holes will become deformed once they are bent up.
sure, that will be fine. the base is the most important to me. I'll probably just roll the coils myself.
We can provide any kind of 3d digitizing service and design service. Please send me more detailed information to what you need done.
I'm not sure if i'm allowed to post jobs related to sheetmetal stuff, but here it goes.
I need "base" weldment x4 qty
I need "coil" part x16qty

I don't want to make the drawing public. Please give me your fax machine and I will send it over immediately.
I will send the print out to a fax machine. Please ignore all the GD&T, it makes the part look lot more intimidating than it really is. I could care less if you used a hacksaw, drill, and a dremel...
chipmaker, I just faxed you 1:1 scale print
Provide me with a fax number and I will send it over. Chipmaker6, the drawing is on it's way. Please ignore all the GT&T and tolerances. The drawing acutally looks more intimitaing than it really...
